The whole re-rendering of the Nothing’s Shocking cover…WTF is up with that? Sure, I get it…something to do with Etty being triggered or whatever (grow up)…but why not just create some new artwork for the tour and poster? The wolf poster for the tour with Smashing Pumpkins was suffice and didn’t piss on their legacy.
All this obfuscation really tests this whole “Eric Avery is a stand up guy” notion.
I mean … I get the sense that he’s trying to hold this thing together.
I also can’t imagine he isn’t annoyed by the whole thing
I should imagine the whole band is annoyed if Dave is still being a prick teaser. I think there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the line up yet because Dave is still saying ‘Maybe’ I’d bet money on it.

The re-rendering is embarrassing. Typical JA MO: do everything in an untimely, half-assed way.
Geez, they could have even hired Dave to do a poster now that he's an artiste.
Anyone know the Bakersfield presale code? SOUND worked for the Palladium show (I'll be wearing Birkinstocks) but it doesn't work on AXS for Bakersfield

He came across like he fucking cared. Frustrated, disappointed, saddened. Dirty laundry, yes, but I just think Eric was, just like, fuck it. And fuck you Perry, for fucking up and pissing all over something that was once so mighty and beautiful.
And I do feel that Perry watched them and finally realized everything that was said came from a place of of wanting it to be as it should be. He is the one that reached out to Eric. Must have been quite a phone call.
I think it was just more directly honest then normal media...he knew we all knew half the stories....looking back it doesn't age as well because the fanfire doesn't burn as bright...we all cared then
I don’t think Eric has bailed- really what will end up happening is that we get an album called Imminent Redemption with another permutation of the lineup. I guess at the very least it would put Strays in a more interesting context
Meanwhile, Eric hasn’t posted anything since just before Christmas.
This dude has to already be planning his next exit at the conclusion of his current contract.
There's no way he's enjoying this clusterfuck.
Who the hell is managing the band these days? This has been some straight up idiocy... AGAIN.
I think Perry/Eric both know that this is it. These are the last 5 years or so remaining to actually do Janes Addiction. And it will clearly take more than Dave bailing for them to not try and end on the highest possible note.
Dave has to have some resentment of Perry or Dave.
I’m sure he’s happy and never needs to work—so he can easily sit this out.
He may not want to deal with Eric having a strong ( primary ? ) influence on the writing of things?
Maybe he’s still angry at the Sonny interview
I’ve written a press release for them. They can have it:
Despite many overtures Dave has decided to sit this reunion out. We wish him the best, and there’s always an open door for him. We will be moving on with a new music and live performances with new friends and old
When was the last time Dave pushed himself artistically with his guitar playing? Deconstruction. Maybe .. kettle whistle and So What!? Maybe?
Not going to see Jane's. They don't play new songs. If they played "So What", "kettle" and at minimum 3 new tracks I might go. "So What" is great.
As much as I love So What, Perry went a little heavy on the electronics. I’d love to hear that song played in 1989. It could have been a classic. That chorus is everything that was wonderful about Janes.

So What was played in '89....you're right, it is so much better!
Funny how the bass/drums/lead guitar/front man is actually really similar quality to janes.
Whatever happened to moshing..
On topic. My guess is that Dave is just done with Janes (both the rehash and anything possibly new) He just needs to own it...
