All JA tours have been 1/2 step down since NINJA. Last time they were in standard was relapse (save for one random short set in 2014). I’m hopeful that since Perry just got through an entire Porno tour in standard that he feels up to it for Jane’s. That would really be cool to hear. Moreso than any other band I can think of, their tuning really has an effect on the feel of the songs.

As for the sticker on Dave’s guitar, I think it’s just something that’s been on the headstock for awhile and they’ve never bothered to take it off. I don’t think it indicates that he’s recording 1/2 step down.

A few years ago someone took a NINJA era show and pitched it up to standard. It sounded pretty cool. I think it’s somewhere in the trading section.
You’re sure about that? I didn’t actually check the YouTube videos with Troy or Josh. I’ve got decent pitch but I guess still didn’t catch the half step down.

I should look for that pitched up NIN/JA set.
Yeah but I also realized my post was a bit unclear. NINJA was a full step down - everything post-NINJA has been half. I was pleased on with the Spirits on Fire tour because we got to hear what it was like when Eric played the songs in Eb.

I didn’t notice Eb but a full step down was more noticeable to me at NINJA. A lot was heavier and dirtier, but I specifically remember Stop sounded strange and less frantic or energetic compared to prior tours.

Fuck. Yes.

I’m guessing the band in some way has been working on the album for over a year? Though we have no idea when Dave started to get involved.

I hope there’s something, a new song or anything for the summer shows —

Realistically I think fall could be an album? With an American tour in spring?

That all seems so far off

But I’m so excited

I need to see a photo of Dave and Eric in studio

Probably three songs, two of which will be studio recordings of City and I Would For You and new song Cuticles that will only be released once Perry completes the artwork for it.

So bizarre they didn’t release Fingernails or the actual EP. Pete seemed very sincere saying they didn’t like artwork and kept sending it back. It was supposed to be the hardest rocking song on it. And if they liked the song, why not play it on the tour? Such a weird band with weird management.

And they like practiced it right? Didn’t Watt mention that on tour diary?

The entire P4P reunion seemed like it was barely thought out:

- They do the festival last summer last minute instead of Jane’s. Sortve out of nowhere?
- announce they are recording
- Martyn bails
- tour unannounced
- Agua comes out
- tickets go on on sale for tour
- tour gets cancelled
- Petes Dad released
- new dates announced
- Little Me released
- tour happens ( it’s good! )

Fingernails in limbo, and did someone say that the band didn’t get paid for the tour? Was it basically done for the crew and Watt?

I’m sure Fingernails will come out — but man, maybe management has all been wrapped up in Jane’s planning?

Pete said he and Perry (I think) didn’t take paychecks.

They did it because Perry wanted to. He wanted Porno and Janes to have appropriate endings. The band’s management is just bad. I’m not sure where I got this impression from but I believe they’re younger and inexperienced (probably cheap) and they are trying to help Perry cap his legacy in the right way but aren’t on top of things. It’s a shame. But it’s almost appropriate these bands would end messy but with a bang.

Wait is the plan for Janes a farewell too?

After the last show for porno they didn’t make a big deal of it being over. I’m sure they’ll play local and that fingernail will be out in May- both songs were spaced three months apart

Perry has talked about a 5 year plan to wrap things up. He’ll be 70 then.

So Dan said on his Podcast that Dave has been recording in the studio with Avery and Perk and he’s sounding better than ever.

On the question of Dave being on the up and coming tour.. Dan said he could not either confirm or deny if Dave is part of the tour.

Nothing new .. but exciting news that new Jane’s is happening.

At this point I'll be glad to just get one new recorded song from the original lineup. I hope Dave is on the tour, maybe he doesn't trust himself on a full tour cycle yet, its his call/right. Nothing surprises me with this circle of people. I limit my expectations so I'm not let down. P4P blew out my expectations, so that was really good to see and experience. Jane's I just want to scratch the "what if?" itch of the original band firing on all cylinders once again and what it could yield. They were all boys with Taylor Hawkins, so I'd hope they could honor him by going out properly. He loved the band as much as us from anything I've read.

I’d love to see Dave play live with the band — but I’m more than fine having him put all his energy into writing and recording with Eric and Perk, and then continuing to get healthy.

I suspect he’ll be on tour though.

just so excited that they are recording —

New Janes music gets more real everyday. It sounds to me that Stephen recorded some drum tracks before the P4P tour and Dave and Eric are hashing out parts just the two of them.

Cant get a read on what Dan knows exactly about the tour but I’m way more excited that they’re in the studio right now
