New Album Thread

#1 Post by someguy » Wed May 10, 2023 8:14 pm

Per Etty’s post on insta, they’re starting work on the new album. Perry is humming ideas into his phone. Also offers yet another vague update on Dave

Towing the company line about him, but whatever. As long as he gets his head right is what matters. Me being selfish, yeah I want him on that album 100%.

It does kind of suck though now Eric's back after a 30 year absence of writing new Jane's songs but Dave's out.

Has Dave reappeared at all from the past couple of months?

His girlfriend posted a video 12 hours ago, not as a post but in her instagram story, of them eating sushi in his house.

So... unless that is an old video... it appears he is not currently in rehab.

Don't know if it's a weird camera angle but Dave's fingers look really puffy, like sausages. Maybe they always were like that and I just didn't notice. :noclue:

No new posts from Dave for over 2 months. I really hope he's involved with the album but if he's unable to fully join-for whatever reason- I prefer that he sits out.

It's just weird that somehow an entire damn NHC album got recorded, which he not only played on... but sang on, and other tracks he played on keep popping up on other artists albums, and he has time to make art at all times of day and night, and he has made podcast appearances, and showed up to art shows, but somehow Mr. Long Covid can't get it together to play some guitar for Jane's Addiction? :bs:

Are we sure that "Long Covid" isn't some sort of code for "Fuck you, PAY ME"? :hs:

I mean…all evidence seems to point to Dave simply not wanting to be involved in Jane’s Addiction.

Maybe it’s drugs, but …

Whatever he’s been dealing with hasn’t stopped him from doing all kinds of stuff. He traveling and going to events. It’s like he just wants to sit it out…and I think the band wants to give him the benefit of the doubt but, at a certain point it juts move on.

I want him involved but he obviously isn’t into current situation.

Conspiracy me thinks He and Chaney blame Perry for Taylor’s death

Or maybe Perry blames Dave.

One of these dudes is clearly a junkie and the other is out rocking the whole globe sounding better than he has in over 20 years. :noclue:

let's get those rumors going again.... :noclue:
Puffy hand syndrome is a rare manifestation due to continuous intravenous drug abuse. It is a form of lymphedema caused by the sclerosing nature of intravenously administered drugs. It typically presents with bilateral, non-pitting edema at the dorsum of the hands. Proper identification of puffy hand syndrome represents a crucial junction of interest to physicians as the syndrome can be used to recognize a patient’s past or ongoing drug addiction.

I mean, we’ve seen the track marks on his arms. It’s not really a rumor anymore.

I guess when it comes down to it the only one who's irreplaceable when it comes to Jane's is Perry. You can't just go out there and hire sammy hagar.

That’s basically most bands. The singer is typically the face/voice of most bands.

At Jubilee I heard people calling Martyn “Eric” and last year people calling Troy “Dave.”

Ha! I had a few guys around me at the Gainesville Jubilee show say the same thing a couple of songs in - "Holy shit, Eric's back!"

I also heard people saying things like "Dave ripped it!" at the Tampa show last year.

Things like this remind me of the JA nerds we are all. 😂 Fishbone's been having a similar thing with casual fans with "new" guitarist Mark Phillips, who holds a passing resemblance to Kendall Jones. Mark is a good sport about it, but I know it's got to be getting old after 4 years now.
