Leftover Music from the Original Era

#1 Post by Tyler Durden » Mon Jun 26, 2023 4:06 pm

Aside from “Suffer Some”, were there any songs on the two “reunion” albums that were from back in the day (‘86-‘91)? Or musical snippets or lyrics? Wasn’t there some talk that Perry was dusting off old lyric/poetry books back when they made The Great Escape Artist?

It makes me wonder what they are recording now (for the proposed new album) that is remnants from the past vs. completely new material.

The title I’ll Hit You Back had been around since the 80s as Perry’s publishing company or something like that. It’s in the NS CD booklet

It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re working on Kettle Whistle for the record

I think that’d be cool. Flea hung back and EA’s true bassline wasn’t represented as well as it could’ve been.

I really hope though, they’d cap it at that on a new record. I’d prefer a 4 song EP over a full length with 4 new songs and Kettle, Trip Away, My Time and 1% studio versions beefing up the song numbers. Maybe a Trent Whores bonus track on the vinyl. I highly doubt that with EA, but these dudes have a track record.

Everybody’s Friend was apparently a rehash from the original era.
