That was great! Thanks for posting, Crater.

I loved how she broke down the song with her interpretation. When she first mentions that she's getting Pink Floyd vibes, I heard T Rex. :noclue:

I'm listening to this song with fresh ears now.

One cool thing about it that I noticed is that the guy that played the piano parts on Then She Did commented on her video.

She is fantastic! Love this Crater. thanks!
This is my fav Jane's song and holds a special place in my heart for... reasons.

I'm totally geeking out on her bcz I would LOVE to do a deep dive convo on this song!
I studied music in school and was in a 110 piece symphonic band for a couple of years while studying. I was always amazed how our instructor could pinpoint exactly who the one person was that played the wrong note. He taught my ear to really listen to alllll the instruments and I just melt into the layers and moods of this song from the moment I heard it.

I like her take on it because she is pointing out so many of the things I love about it... she also put words to my feelings about it that I would not have been
able to articulate otherwise. " dissonance " for example. I love the sick key they go into in that section of the song! It moves me and I appreciate it bcz I loved playing those sick notes and it was rare in school to get a piece of music that had them in it. We didnt work with many pieces of music w lyrics associated w them, so she was able to vocalize what I liked about it. Very cool.

I will have to search the comments for piano player- thanks for mentioning it.

Also, I will likely geek out on many of her takes on other songs.
I'm nerdy that way.

I'm usually not a huge fan of the "first listen" videos, but this one was really great! I loved her analysis of the structure and lyrics, and it even felt fresh for someone like me (and off all us) who've loved and listened to that song countless times.

Thanks for sharing, Crater! I'm going to check out some more of her videos. :thumb:
