The comment from Perry was something along the lines that he used to play drums on stage with Psi Com, and that the ones he's been playing remind him of that.

You see that video from the first show with Perry and his sons band Glossy and Perry just loves to talk. Taylor Swift has a rule when she's touring she won't talk to anyone so her voice stays fresh.

Looks like the Boston show has changed venues - it was booked at MGM Music Hall Fenway (a newer venue with a 5K capacity), and was just moved across the street to the House of Blues, which has a 2K capacity.

I’ve been to both, and would have preferred it stayed at MGM (better sound/layout/sight lines), but understand the move, and will be on the GA floor either way.

Not sure if any other venue moves will happen with the tour, but glad the show is still on and there was an alternate LiveNation venue for it to be shifted to.

Im surprised they thought booking a 5K venue made a lick of sense to begin with. Janes would probably struggle with that.

Fully agree on the venue size in Boston - they had originally booked the 5K venue for the fall dates that were cancelled, so I was really surprised to see the same venue slotted for the rescheduled dates coming up. 2K seems more in line with the market, although I was hoping it'd be at a great little 1K room (Paradise Rock Club) that would have made for a hell of a show and kept the tour in the LiveNation family too.

Unfortunately, I've been to several shows at the Boston venue where it is now (House of Blues, formerly Avalon) where they've pulled the plug on bands and turned the house lights on so the venue could turn into a nightclub before 10:00. Hoping that won't be the case for a P4P show on a Tuesday, as I'm still fighting against aging into weekday matinee shows that would get me home in time for Lawrence Welk, Matlock, and Murder She Wrote.

Heads up for those interested…

It looks like a stream of last night’s show in Aspen will air sometime soon. I likely misread it and it sounds too good to be true, but I figured I would pass this along in case it’s legit.

Here is my footage from last nights show in San Diego.

Porno for Pyros Live (4K) at San Diego Observatory 2/15/24 with Glossy & Tigercub - All 3 Bands
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6QblbKcWfY

I was also at Santa Ana and will just say San Diego rocked. Perry and the whole band sounded great with some nice footage of Pete’s amazing playing in this video. Hope the rest of the tour continues like this but who knows. Either way I will see them again in Jersey for the final show of the tour. Was having too much fun to record every single song but there was a lot more to the evening than whats in the video. There's about 1 hour and 20 minutes of 4k footage in the above video between all the bands.

Before the show got to talk to a couple outside while P4P was soundchecking. Later saw them next to us in the front row as the woman was being removed by security due to what looked like dehydration and the dude later followed. He is in the video attempting to high five Perry on his way out. Was bummed as they seemed super stoked to be there and hope all are ok. A fight broke out during orgasm and someone got booted just like it was '92. Aside from that it was smooth sailing and great energy from the band and the crowd.

Was at San Diego show and wholly agree with batteringram. It was a good time. Opened with Orgasm--a song that now strikes me as silly, but was a great opener. To that point, Perry told us Watt is coming up with the nightly setlists for the tour. I appreciate that as it ensures a more dyanmic experience, and the audience isn't going to know what they're going to get. There were plenty of times when Perry's voice faltered, but the love between audience and band as well as love between bandmates was ever present, and made for a joyful experience. And there were plent of times he sounded like Perry and gave 110%. His suit and hat seemed age appropriate and kind of regal. Pete apparently had on a new suit also--lkke they'd gone suit shopping together. But at some point Peter fell. I hadn't realized he'd fallen--thought he was just lying down doing his thing, and he exclaimed he tore his new suit in the process. Pete's mother recently passed and Perry honored her with some words also.

We were at the front and center. I was behind my sister who was at the railing. Prior to the show the guy next to us revealed he was the promoter for the Tijuana show, which he claims was the first ever Porno show. That was one of my favorite shows of all time, so I was stoked to meet him. He showed us pics he's got with the band from that night. My sister was able to share a photo shes' got of the original flier for that show, which he didn't have.

Regarding the fight--it started right behind us. A guy was having words with two women. He seemed drunk, and I assume he'd elbowed his way to the front and people weren't having it. There was a screaming match, and it came to blows, and quite suddenly, they were practically across the floor in front of Peter. Thankfully, security identified the one who'd "started it" and I assume he got the boot.

Regarding the couple--they seemed "older' than me; both had epic silver hair, and the guy seemed to know each of the bands who came on ahead of Porno. They were grooving and having a good time. As Porno started, they must have been hitting a pipe or something. A lot of smoke. And then security is helping her over the railing. This happened as Perry was talking about women not being as strong as men (?) and he addressed her saying I'm speaking up for you (or something). Not his best moment.

Also, I'd expected, or hoped for a pit to form like in the old days, but alas....

Yeah Hammerstein is so huge. Even shitty Terminal 5 is a better size.

Jane’s by themselves haven’t played anything the size of Hammerstein since Relapse?

If Boston changed venues — I won’t be surprised if NYC gif gets a venue change

Edit: looking at other venues in NYC that day — not seeing anything with an opening.

I wonder how poorly the show is selling

I haven't been tracking the venues but did see they played The Belly Up in Aspen a couple of days ago. The Solana Beach venue is probably my favorite place to see a show, so I checked out Aspen...it's capacity is 450. Exactly where I'd love to see them  Pete was literally shredding day and night.

Anyone know what Port Chester or NJ venues are like?

I’m loathe to see them at Hammerstein that place sucks.
Both great. Awesome sound. Great large floor that won’t be packed. Front loge at cap is probably the best seat you can have at any show with seats. Wellmont similarly great.
Sound tales off and it’s kind of distant in the top parts of the balconies as you’d expect.

Hoping cap tix drop in price because it’s closer to me but wellmont is half the price. Also hoping Perry wakes up or finds his groove in the benzo palace he seems to be residing in. I really enjoyed the show I watched tho. No they weren’t great because Perry is so way off. But Pete and perk are so great and watt is a legend. If someone gave me a free ticket to Queen with Adam lambert I’d run to get in just to hear Brian May play those songs. Same for one last chance to hear Pete play these songs. Different but similar I remember seeing sabbath on one of their later reunions where ozzy could not have been worse. Voice shot. Looked like he was going to fall over. Shame, but seeing iommi play those songs was fucking great.

How is it that, in the last 30 years, Perk hasn't gotten at least 1/3 of the jobs that Josh Freese ended up getting?

Dude is a MACHINE.
It’s a great comparison. Both are fucking machines. I actually thought Perk might get offered the foo fuckers gig. Wonder if he would want that kind of commitment. Josh in Devo is some of the hardest and most technically perfect drumming I know of.

Freese is so adaptable to multiple styles, some are really complex and nuanced.

Yes! I read recently that Freese is going to play on the new St Vincent album along with Dave Grohl and Cate Le Bon.
