For anyone going later I called Hammerstein - they come on 915-1045 (opener 8-845)

Enjoy everyone! If you see someone under 35 it’s me lol I remember when I was 16 and on these boards. Time flies
Have a good time, young lady! :oldtimer:

What happened in the beginning of the set? Setlist fm says they started playing pets, played it partially, but then finished the show with it?
Yeah it was crazy cool. They came on and Watt dropped the opening riff of Pets. Played first verse and chorus and stopped on a dime, rolling right into Sadness.

Perry said they had one more song before playing Tahitian Moon. After that he looked at Pete, they nodded, and they played a very long Pets to end the show.

Enjoy these shows this weekend everyone. Could be some of the last ever. Although as I told Pete after the Chicago show, this wasn't the feel or sound of a band at the end of its life. P4P definitely has gas left in the tank.

I'm on a train heading back to NJ. Show was very good. Hammerstein has weird sound though..took a few songs for Perryz voice to start having some volume. At least that's how it sounded to me. I was with a couple of friends who I gifted Tix too. They appreciate Perry but aren't huge fans. So we got in at like 830 and place was already kind of full. We were dead center but 1/2 way back, which I'm not really used too. Also one of friends kept chirping in my ear! So I didn't have the spiritual experience I wanted too lol! But, I think Perry and gang put on a pretty darn good show. I'm going with my wife on Sunday who will appreciate the fact the fact that we need to be upfront and focused lol. As a skier, there are no friends on powder days. And now I think there are no friends on Perry show days lol.

Also, is it me or does Perry have a major backing track on Agua?

My kid swore they saw someone doubling his voice side stage. My guess was it was someone with a mic to speak into Perry’s ear monitors to feed him the starting note. With that said, Robin handles a lot of sounds via samples and patches it seems to me. Could even have some voices. Agua sounded pretty layered.
This brings me to a rare, in these parts, shout out to Ms. Farrell. I’ve never been down with the whole Yoko-ification of Etty. Perry is a big boy and makes his own choices. Obviously his partner/muse is a well documented part of his art tho. So sure, maybe he’d have had a different edge over the past 30+ years if he was with Casey and they were artist junkies together, but hey, the rest of us were pretty different in the early 90s too. I’m a PF fan, and I respect both of them for being together a very long time and raising kids. I didn’t much care for the prominence of the dancing girls in Janes over the years and she’s one of them, but for this tour, Etty Lau Farrell was, to my ear, a real asset. I think it’s her high vocals that contribute to why they were able to do this tour without down-tuning. Perry’s range is okay but there’s nothing wrong with a little help. Perry loves and shows love to everyone up there. His love for his wife is sincere. She’s off to the side doing a nice job as a backup singer in a group that probably benefits from having one. With all the shit that perry and Etty have taken over the years over things related to her presence in the band, and considering the general consensus that this tour is fucking great, i think it’s fair to give credit to all of them. Robin brings necessary sounds. Etty brings necessary backing vocals. And the other four are fucking royalty. Wish i could make it to wellmont sunday. FYI Bman, we got in to the Cap at about 8:55 and walked right up front. You should be okay at Wellmont although with the cheap tickets, they may have sold more.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos of Agua from this tour and I’m not hearing a backing track, but he’s got a pedal rig and he definitely turns something on going into the choruses. Is he not just adding a layer of delay or reverb (or both). It’s more subtle than back in the day with Janes but there’s definitely some effects on the vocals.

There was some funny Perry/Etty banter last night. He said something along the lines of, 'I met my wife at this venue 22 years ago'. Etty chimed in something like, 'no perry, we've been married 22 years. We met here over 25 years ago on the Jane's Addiction Relapse tour'! Little funny moment.

This is priceless. Who's producing the Watt biopic? I am hoping that his "y" and "k"' on his "leash" aren't broken and he's intentional there. What a character...

This was a great read on a rainy and dreary Saturday.

I like the words and sayings he uses. Like the way he describes food, consuming food and food establishments.
The best is how appreciative he is of everything and everyone.
I would love to be part of the morning Miles Davis bio reading.
It was all really enjoyable to read. I think it's hilarious that Mike Watt loves to schvitz and that one of the clothing items in his four- piece tour wardrobe is a yellow raincoat.

Hope you made it to the Toronto show - it was good one!

Pete’s stories about those readings are hilarious. Watt very abruptly wakes him up with those.

I had a blast at the show - was really cool to finally see these songs live after they were so formative for me at 14. Band was super tight and having a blast as everyone else has said. It was cool to experience how hearing a song live can transform it - like I’ve never loved cursed male but they sounded so great on it it made me appreciate it in a new light.

Agree with man - Perry was a bit off first few songs which was too bad bc Sadness is my fave. But he seemed to pick it up after and some songs it felt like old perry.

Exceeded my expectations completely - and I hadn’t been to Hammerstein in over a decade and loved that the balconies had available seats w great views when I rolled in at 845 (sorry I am not a GA person bc I am 5’1 and can never see lol) I saw Jane’s front row twice and said yup that’s good for me on that front lol

Also props to the guy who had a full drum kit outside the theater afterwards and was playing mountain song. He had a sign with a suggested tip of $20

Had the exact same experience with that song. Seeing it live for the first time made me see it in a completely new light. And at both shows I saw, it seemed to get the biggest crowd reaction by far which I was very surprised by. Crazy energy with everyone singing along.

Just got home from Montclair. Great show! Better than NYC. The sound at the Wellmont is really good. Got a Dogs Rule The Night for the time on the tour. Perry came in too soon but it was good. On Mieja too. But he had high energy tonight. Kind of shocked how much he was into and moving around a lot. Gave a great show. Place was pretty packed and high energy too, giving the love back. This was my 13th P4P show since 1993 and if was the last one it was a really good one.

Well, now that the tour's ended, wanted to thank everyone here for the reviews and footage shared. While still super bummed about no longer having been able to catch one of the rescheduled shows (having front row balcony Tix in ATL!), I am sincerely so happy for y'all that did get to attend and enjoy what we've all loved so much all of these years together. It was absolutely the next best thing to being there.

last nights show in Jersey was so good. setlist was:

orgasm
sadness
porno for pyros
meija
agua
good gods urge
thick of it all
cursed female
cursed male
porpoise head
dogs rule the night
100 ways
blood rag
bali eyes
wishing well
i got a right
bad shit
pets
tahtion moon

we were extremely lucky to get first row center. after show the crew gave us Perrys setlist wich the band later all signed (with the exception of Watt who left earlier) This made the night even more memorable and the perfect way to end things - although hopefully its not the end. we had travelled far from the west coast to be there and it was worth it in every way. below is my footage of the full show at the Belasco theater back on 2/18. I also recorded the full show last night in Jersey which I will post soon

Porno for Pyros Live (4k) at the Belasco
Los Angeles 2/18/24 (full set from front row)
