I think you're right, might be the last song we get tonight.
Did the sound just drop low for everyone too?

Pete just gave a, clearly contractually obligated, "Thank you to Etty Farrell for helping me with the background vocals" before they did their final bow.
NO. FUCKING. WAY.

Yeah Perry def got stronger. Bad Shit was great, and Stooges cover was blistering.
The night and day transitions continue. Tonight was so much better than last. The was as solid, but Perry actually sounded mostly decent for much of it. It's to believe the extent of the difference, but I don't think it's too much of a stretch to chalk it up in part to whatever he's on. He was wasted in Ventura, but not Belasco - tonight just seemed the usual level of fried. On balance, I would say that they redeemed themselves, but it just feels like crap shoot as which which version of Perry will show up at any given show.
As for seeming frail, that really struck me tonight. There are stairs up to the stage from floor level and he stepped up them so gingerly. He just looked like an old geezer.
I think he was just telling them to start Pets and he wasn't going to banter...no skipped song at this point compared to setlists of previous nights on this tour.
(if I'm guessing right as to when this moment was...sort of rolled his finer as in keep it moving and then Pets started.)
So apparently Glossy was one of the openers, which is one of Perry’s sons.
Interesting… looks like he’s playing drums? I can’t tell
I scoped their instagram. I think they switch instruments because in one photo he was holding a bass, but in another there was a girl playing bass.
Also, one photo specifically says "HEZ".... so.... it's Hezron. That's all I can determine. Otherwise everyone in that band just kind of looks like they stay up all night smoking pot and not bathing, and generally attempting to look exactly the same.
around 4:55 he says bass player.
In addition to being rather shit, Glossy were a trio - female bass player. Shirtless bloke with a beer belly on sticks. No offspring to be found.

May be moot given the stream, but I wanted to be sure to document the Veep camera crew in action as they blocked the view for many people in the front. Solid piece of obstructed views, at times.
I agree, Creep. Definitely worth the $12. But yeesh, I'm tired on the East coast (went to bed around 2am) this morning.
Like already said above, the band sounds incredible. Perk hasn't lost a bit all these years, and I'm still astonished how powerful and dynamic the LA alternative drummers (Fish, Perk, Chad Smith) have been able to continue to be as they age.
Pete is such an incredible guitarist and is able to tap into the original energy from their conception so effortlessly. Perry made a comment how he loved watching Pete's eyes grow wider before big parts of songs came up. You can just tell he loves what he's doing and the love her shares for those guys and the audience. You can't help but love him.
Watt is a legend for good reason, and the other guys are incredibly lucky to have him in the fold. He plays and brings the same amount of energy sitting down just as he does standing up, just like when I saw him with MSSV in October.
The keyboard player blended in pretty damn well. The camera panned in on her a few times, and she was giving this super nervous smile. I'm sure that will dissipate as the shows continue on the tour. I don't think anything additional needs to be really said for Etty. It is still funny how she can do her trademark shimmy dance no matter what song is playing.
Perry's energy absolutely grew as the set went on, and I thought he sounded really great on "I Got a Right" (great surprise!) and "Bad Shit". Very thankful that he brought the second show San Diego vibe last night instead of the others. You can see how happy he is to be playing with Pete, Perk, and Watt. When he had his second banter about the ocean and environment (I think before Tahitian Moon), I did wonder for a second if there was confusion and they were about to launch into "Agua" again.
I still think that expectations need to be tempered at this point in time, and I know that's hard when the guitar/drums/bass are on fire like they are. Perry's almost 65 years old, and I don't know how we can expect him to perform like the frenetic banshee that we all fell in love with. It's understandable to be underwhelmed if you're expecting the energy of yesteryear, but it just needs to be accepted that the energy we see now is a different type. And if you can't accept that, you're just going to be disappointed. I'm trying to appreciate it for what it is.
Is the teleprompter a new thing with him, or maybe it's part of the Veeps stage production setup?
The middle section of Sadness was forgotten (Fuel and Release). But Etty tried singing it. Bali Eyes! Fuck yeah!

Been a few years since I’ve posted but I felt compelled to jump in and say fuck yes.
Just watching the veeps stream on YouTube and loving it.
I truly don’t even mind etty there. Ffs Perry is in his sixties if he and his wife want to share the experience I say more power to them.
If it’s good enough for Watt to show up, it’s good enough for me to watch.
Also because I don think there’s a lot of GGU pro shot that I’m aware of, makes me enjoy seeing many of them songs performed.
Anyway back to obscurity until either Jane’s release a new album or sth
