Man flights to Europe in the Summer are super pricey. Eyeing the Dublin show. I think it's an outside venue. Round trip for 2 from NJ is over $3k. Any rumors of US dates?
Not that you asked.....but the venue is big and impersonal. Kraftwerk and Madness played there last summer (Madness are doing arenas and headlining festivals at the moment, for context). The UK venues are much better, FWIW. Roundhouse is lovely.

As for flights - I go home (the UK) from the US 3-4 times a year and have a good handle on prices. Flights from EWR should be dirt cheap - less than $1k, unless you're sitting uo front on the plane. The issue is booking 6 months in advance - the whole pricing model for flight prices as changed in recent years, which you probably know. 6 months out - prices are high, but they will go down. Am guessing around February may be the best time to book flights for these. I won't be getting mine until then.
Thanks!! I'm going to keep my options open then. Just realized I have Wilco tix on the night of the Dublin show too. So Dublin is out.

I have no inside info but there will 100% be US dates. I’d guess in the fall. Porno is done after this. It’s all Janes from here.
Porno is done done, or out of the way in terms of touring?

I don’t know more than anyone else. It was conjecture, but based on age, the “farewell” tour, and that their getting back together resulted in recording the same 3 songs they’ve recorded before, I believe they’re done.

I'll be at the Roundhouse on Monday :thumb:

It would have been great to get to Barrowlands, my friend was keen as he says "the Scots crowd really go for it".

Euro dates are coming out for Pearl Jam and it sounds like Josh is playing with them

These dates are after Janes dates however… still the possibility of overlap as more get announced

Great bands break the rules, but legends write their own.

JANE’S ADDICTION actually wrote the manual for alternative culture by combining genre-defying songs and spectacular live performances.

Perry Farrell is one of music's most visionary and enigmatic leaders with his vibrant, vulnerable and vital voice. Guitar god Dave Navarro is a master of psychedelic and epic riffs. Stephen Perkins' tribal sound hypnotizes and captivates.

The group thus created a sound that the world had never heard before, as intense as it was sensitive. Perry Farrell's lyrics depict life's downsides, personal stories that stick with fans, just like Navarro's riffs.

A unique date in France not to be missed on June 26, 2024 at the Olympia!
Sounds like Dave is expected (at leat by the guy who wrote this)

Sounds like a Strays era, or Great Escape Artist era, press release being repeated. Where’s EA in this?

If Dave isn't fully stoked just move on and start the Josh era. Seriously. Troy and Josh sounded raw and fresh at least.

I just don't see Josh giving up what is essentially a full time gig with Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder, where he has unlimited creative freedom to play various instruments and songs, to become "the guy" with Jane's that only does a smattering of festivals on occasion playing the same setlist and seems to be winding down entirely.

Legitimately this is probably the moment where Pete steps in, if there is ever going to be one. Dude is used to playing with Perry and Perk anyway. :noclue:

That Pete wasn’t the guy last year I think spoke volumes. Josh is good friends with Eric and I’m sure Eric suggested him—maybe not as a condition or anything, but to say something like “if I’m involved I’d like so and so involved if Dave is out”

As much as I love Pete, with him in the band it’s sorta Porno with Eric, and I think Jane’s 3.0 needs something fresh and Josh seems to be it.

If Josh has been writing with the band — I would think that’s more involvement in crafting sound and songs than being a third guitarist in a band that already has primary songwriters 🤷‍♂️

Whatever the case I just wish we’d get clarity…

I can only think that the band probably doesn’t have any either—I’m convinced they want to be supportive of Dave and it probably very difficult and touchy

From what little I’ve heard, that seems to be the case with Dave. Although you’d think there’s been some developments with these new dates being announced.

As in the band hasn’t heard from him and doesn’t know what he wants to do?

I hate to say this, but I have thought a couple of times recently that we may hear about him on the news, and not for music.

For those in the Netherlands, we don't have to go either Pinkpop with their crappy line-up or to Germany to catch Jane's on their upcoming tour.

Saw em there in 2003.

How time flies :conf:

Still one if the best shows I've ever seen (I know, I haven't seen them in the 90's). But still great
