Am liking it on repeat listens. Agua was immediate and felt revelatory in the moment. This will grow on me. I didn't pick up immediately on what the song was about. My daughter, half listening, on her phone, was like, she's carrying his child.

Just gave it a listen and I enjoyed it.

The major positive thing I got out of it is that I wasn't immediately repulsed by what I was hearing and I haven't been able to say that about something Perry was involved with for decades now.

I give it a 7 out of 10. It probably would've scored a bit higher had the song not been so short.

More or less my take. It’s cute and silly, I guess, which is more than I can say for TGEA.

The production is a little off with the guitars. It should sound rawer and in your face.

That said, it’s great. Lyrically, it’s very early 90s Perry. It’s nothing life changing, but it’s a porno for pyros song. No doubt. And it’s quick and punchy and made me smile today. Not much more I could ask for.

Listening to this back to back with Agua really solidifies for me that this is what Perry should have been doing for the past 20 years. This band’s sound, style and players were much better suited to age gracefully with. I know Pete got sick, but Gobalee/SYTBS would have been a perfect GGU follow up with the Porno players. Then Janes should have been brought out for the occasional reunion run, which would have been the pants shitting kind of moment Relapse and Coachella were. The rare treat that would generate headlines.

After a few listens, I'm enjoying it a lot. The main riff is still killer, and the lyrics sound like what Perry would've written around that time. It sounds like P4P and I don't think we could ask for much more, considering who thought we'd ever even get a few songs from the OGs again. I'm thankful.

I’m also reminded of Insanity Rains.

I like Perry’s vocal melody but the “hey hey ohhh” part as the chorus kicks in makes me wince. It sounds too commercial, not like P4P at all.

I agree though that this and Agua are as good as we could reasonably expect in 2024.

I feel this way for a lot of pfp. The seed was planted after I was hoping for Jane’s to reproduce in pfp back in 93. Obviously it’s relaxed since, but pfp will get down and dirty live with this like so many of their songs. I’m hitting the oc show on the 12th and really looking forward to a punch in the face with this one
