The cancelled New Years show with Marilyn Manson at MSG was 125 a ticket plus 25 per ticketmaster fee. I had purchased 4, 2 for my girl and I, the other for whoever. A lot of my friends were still heavy into them in 02-03 so I knew I'd find takers. When they cancelled I was refunded 500 on my credit card, fuckers still took the 25 per ticket fee. I think I'm still pissed 9 years later.

Yeah I bought 4 tickets for that too. Everybody else who was supposed to go was so understanding about still giving me money for the tickets too.

Same with the Tomahawk/Melvins show that got cancelled in NYC because the club was double booked, got burned on that.

Yes, both cities. I just looked it up, I was at Riverbend Stadium. I missed Audioslave because I was in the beer area. As soon as Stinkubus came on I fled to the imported beer area. The only bands I recall seeing were The Donnas, JA, QSSA. Maybe one or two moe but I do not remember right now.

Body painting was all the rage. Many wasted girls with painted boobs walking around.

relapse some gym outside boston where the mosh pit collapsed the stage rails during the first song and there was like an hour delay followed by the whole show from start and the acoustic set on the main stage.

Did we talk about that show before? Fuck, that audience was full of meatheads - from the college where the show was held, I think. It was too violent for the band to go out to the acoustic stage. The band actually looked afraid, even on the main stage. It took almost an hour after the opener, Oceansize, was spoiled by the rails giving way. Audience members were being pulled onstage by security to prevent them from getting crushed. Some people went to the hospital. I remember some guy who'd been up front had broken at least one ankle, but I think it was both. They'd switched to a bigger and shittier venue. That wasn't supposed to be the place. Man, did the sound ever suck in there. One of the worst venues I've ever been to. Almost the polar opposite of Hammerstein. Pissed me off that they pulled that switcheroo. Could have been a beautiful show if they'd played in Boston. Best song of the night was Ted, as they actually harnessed the violence and played it super-aggressively.

absolutely a spot on accurate description of everything about that show. meathead crowd. fucking ridiculous venue. college gym out in the middle of nowhere. band came ripping out of the box for ocean size and by the end of the song damned near ran off the stage in fear. jasper i don't know if you were as lucky as we were during the hour delay to find a small lounge upstairs where some very real jane's fans were lamenting just how fucked up the whole scene was. we just sat around on some couches and wondered if they were even going to play again. all of us had been up front during the rail cave in and all of us pretty much agreed that we were going to watch the rest of it from towards the back because the frat boy jerkoffs were just too drunk and fucked up. and no doubt, by the end, after the acoustic set was played on the main stage, the band had harnessed all the fucked up shit about the whole night and blasted ted out of the stratosphere.

by the way, i remembered another relapse show ... an outdoor amphitheater in miami, FL. used my backstage pass from hammerstein to get all around the venue. no security whatsoever. parked my car by the stage. walked into the first row (it was a seated venue) before they opened the doors and watched soundcheck. (they played 'had a dad' w/o perry). hung around the dressing room and chatted with perk. dave was high and didn't look happy. perry was high and did look happy - giving an interview to mtv and cracking himself up.

The Vegas shows were awsome, I think back in the days of the forum folks were gonna wear yellow? I was huge fan prior to 1991 but my pops wouldnt let me go to the first lolla, I think I was 13 at the time...I was lucky to to have family members who turned me on to Janes back in the day. The concert Hall was a great venue. Pity they turned it into CTV or whatever it is now. I've seen some amazing shows there over the years.

No kidding...to think that at one time, Led Zeppelin graced the Concert Hall stage (in 1969)...and then the venue eventually became a television studio by the late 90s, where Open Mike with Mike Bullard was recorded.

I believe it's now the home of MTV.
