Only five times. I saw the Relapse, but I had no interest in seeing them again until I caught a NINJA show. I missed some earlier shows because I wasn't old enough, and in one case I had no way to get there.

Pretty sure I've seen P4P at least that many times.

i wish i has some memory of the shows. i was lucky enough to get my hands on a video of one of the lolla shows i saw and it seemed all new to me.

My memory of my one Lolla '91 show is fairly clear. I was tripping balls on LSD, but I was really mesmerized and paying a lot of attention because I know (or believed) that this would be the last time I'd ever see them. And it really was the last time, because it's not like seeing NINJA was very much like seeing the original band.

I share this same experience exactly. Saw them in '90, too.

Did not see them again until NIN/JA, which I was very disappointed by. The only Jane's I've witnessed is with EA, which seems somehow significant.

PS: Flea's tone sucked and he did NOT fit the band, even if Dave was really in the zone on Relapse.

well i can't even tell you all the shows i saw them at or the years or venues..but 15+ easy prob closer to 20 with like 8-9 of those being after 91 sadly
i could swear i saw them at golden bear super early but maybe could have been psi com...memory way too foggy..first show i can remember for sure was early 87 show...saw porno only a handful of times(they always played weird venues) first time was i a lolla side stage with my memory swears flea on bass...they played like 3 songs..saw banyan a shit ton (10+ easy)...hellride the same...polar bear 5+ times...never saw decon...did they ever play out? never saw dave solo or perry solo

not looking to stir up a big turd here and i know this has been discussed a lot and i've never commented on it one way or the other even though i've had a pretty strong opinion on the subject. but this is as good a time as any. so here goes. some of these shows were obviously way better than others. all pre 91 shows were epic - best band in the world type shows. some post 91 shows were incredibly great. some were not. a few were forgettable. but each and every one of them were jane's addiction. of this i am absolutely positive. by any standard except to the mind of a fan who has too much misplaced personal stake and not really a shred of logic or truth. when this band, either 3/4 of them or all of them, goes out and plays its songs, it is jane's addiction. maybe not your favorite version or era and its certainly fodder for discussion how well the particular bass player handled his duties. but its full out stupid for anyone to say that its not jane's addiction [except maybe eric avery, and although i personally would not agree, he's probably the only one who has the right to say 'that's not jane's addition.'...and by the way, he doesn't, does he? he calls them ja 1.0, etc.]

no eric, no janes they are a pale shadow..incomplete without him imho and i have seen them without him a lot..even you say pre break up best band in the world...like zepplin without bonham still good but a major piece is missing

btw eric has said that strays didn't sound like janes addiction

that's bad ass you went and saw them in amsterdam..would be sweet to have seen them overseas during their prime like that

eric didn't make 2008 jane's much better than 2011 janes.

they are what they are. you just have to accept that those days are long gone.
