STP are playing those venues because they've been touring for the last year and a half pretty constantly.Six7Six7 wrote:Lokus wrote:True, but presumably they have professional management and promotion people who would have figured this stuff out in advance.blackcoffee wrote:I suspect it's economics. Hey guys your big payday show is getting in the way of other big payday shows.
Band: Then cancel it!
Seriously these guys cancel as many shows as STP. And we all know where that's getting STP... casino and rib burnoffs are what they play now.

They are a touring machine and seemed to have played every venue in the country i suppose.
Hey Jane's, see that... a band who hasn't had a hit in a decade CAN tour.
Re: Dec 30th canceled
I recently read that STP has played basically the same show during the last year and a half. In that period, they've played in Chile twice, with just one different song in the setlist
Not an example for Jane's. Maybe STP is just following the JA template.

I think most bands play a static setlist.Larry B. wrote:I recently read that STP has played basically the same show during the last year and a half. In that period, they've played in Chile twice, with just one different song in the setlist

Not I.
For that much money, I would expect a bag of coke to be handed to me at the door, and for the non-Etty dancer to felate me during Three Days.
Re: Dec 30th canceled

Re: Dec 30th canceled

Heh, ask Bman.Six7Six7 wrote:if i bought tickets, how much could i flip them for after it sells out?
Re: Dec 30th canceled
Hey Bman, if i bought like 4 of these, how much could i flip them for after it sells out?
Re: Dec 30th canceled
It's clear that they cancelled the Hawaii show because, for whatever reason, they wanted to do Aspen instead. Isn't that pretty asshole-ish given that they already sold tix for Hawaii?
Re: Dec 30th canceled
i seriously doubt they cancelled. i'm sure the promoters cancelled. they probably offered jane's huge money and the sales were not there.Lokus wrote:It's clear that they cancelled the Hawaii show because, for whatever reason, they wanted to do Aspen instead. How much does Janes ACTUALLY make from these gigs? That place is tiny right? Do they sell out?
Maybe 300 people buy ticklets at that price? 300 X $265 = $79,500. Janes probably gets what?? 40K guaranteed?
I spent like $80 on the Irving plaza show each night and I guarantee Aspen won't be anywhere near that good. So I'll skip this one.
Re: Dec 30th canceled
you did buy tickets to last years show didn't you? were you able to sell them?bman wrote:Six7Six7 wrote:Hey Bman, if i bought like 4 of these, how much could i flip them for after it sells out?

I can't believe this really came true.Warped wrote:Maybe Etty prefers Aspen
And the ticket prices are ridiculous...i can't believe anybody will spend that amount of cash... Do you get a bottle of Perry wine's with the ticket?
Wow. That is so wrong.
Re: Dec 30th canceled
this band is so damn predictable even dumb & dumber could of saw this coming.
Re: Dec 30th canceled
I bought two and then decided not to go. I tried selling them but had no takers. I ate $550. I have no problem with Janes trying to make money. They do balance it out with the occasional club gig here and there. I'm not going to bash them for accepting a huge money gig. But I hope they realize...and they do, that no real fan besides a bunch of Aspen douches will be there.creep wrote:you did buy tickets to last years show didn't you? were you able to sell them?bman wrote:Six7Six7 wrote:Hey Bman, if i bought like 4 of these, how much could i flip them for after it sells out?

Re: Dec 30th canceled
Yeah, but the timing is a little too convenient. They had aspen booked and announced a week after Hawaii was cancelled.creep wrote:i seriously doubt they cancelled. i'm sure the promoters cancelled. they probably offered jane's huge money and the sales were not there.Lokus wrote:It's clear that they cancelled the Hawaii show because, for whatever reason, they wanted to do Aspen instead. Re: Dec 30th canceled
Only? Is that in reference to only those 16 and over are admitted...or are they saying that it ONLY costs $265-$575 to party with Jane's Addiction on NYE?creep wrote:awesome!!!!!!! who's going???Romeo wrote:and there you go...

Are those tickets for actual seats or is it general admission?

um balancing with a occasional club gig once every 7 years?bman wrote:I bought two and then decided not to go. I tried selling them but had no takers. I ate $550. that's not much of a balance...
And do think a band who is getting paid big bucks for a douchey NYE gig gives a shit if real fans are there or not??
Cash in now honey.....
