Here you go, Drifter:

Jane’s Addiction will celebrate a “Sterling Spoon Anniversary” this year to commemorate the release of Ritual de lo Habitual and the first Lollapalooza. The revelry began in July when the band launched a highly anticipated tour that includes Ritual de lo Habitual played in its entirety each night.

The party will continue in October when the band releases STERLING SPOON, an epic, six-LP collection that includes Nothing’s Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual, along with the vinyl debuts for the 1990 concert recording Live From The Palladium and a selection of rarities, demos, and live takes from the 1997 compilation Kettle Whistle.

The band, which has been directly involved with the set’s creative direction, selected LA-based Ernesto Yerena to produce its cover art. Limited to just 5,000 pieces worldwide, the US version features metallic-silver ink, while a four-color version will available to the rest of the world. STERLING SPOON will be available on October 21 for a list price of $XX.XX.

The collection focuses mainly on the Los Angles-based quartet’s first incarnation —Perry Ferrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Eric Avery (bass), and Stephen Perkins (drums) — and includes the band’s landmark studio albums: Nothing’s Shocking (1988) and Ritual de lo Habitual (1990). It was those recordings that made the group underground heroes with songs like: “Jane Says,” “Ocean Size,” “Mountain Song,” and the #1 Modern Rock hits “Been Caught Stealing” and “Stop!”

Jane’s Addition made great albums, but it was the band’s live shows that cemented its legend. As a testament to it stage prowess, STERLING SPOON includes the group’s entire performance at the Hollywood Palladium from December 1990, a concert recording that was originally released in 2008 as part of the Rhino’s boxed set A Cabinet of Curiosities. Among the highlights are thunderous performances of such classics as: “Three Days,” “Stop!” and “Summertime Rolls.”

that's pretty cool. i doubt we will get anything we haven't heard but if this is under $100 it would be a nice thing to have.

I edited it to include the track listing. Nothing new, it would appear, except for the track labeling of 1% (lol).

Acoustic Sound had pre-orders for $100 US; the place with the write up was $209 AU. I don't know if they were for the same version, however, since it suggests that there is a silver cover for the US and a multi-color for the rest of the world.

just so depressingly typical that nothing new is included in this release. Pathetic.

Even the same live show ... Seriously

So, NS and Ritual aren't even gonna be remastered?

Doesn't look like it. That 2LP version of Ritual looks identical to the limited record store day release from a few years back. I would bet the farm both studio LPs are just represses of the vinyl remasters. It will be nice to have vinyl iterations off the Kettle Whistle stuff and the Palladium show but I cynically expect these to be digitally sourced, possibly from CD quality sources.

I haven't seen this in the 10 years the album came out or even knew it (assumingly) was part of the first day sale. I got it about a month ago so pretty cool someone held onto it to share for this long. im usually a cheep skate but this was unique to me. I shared how much I got it for to help others in what the value could be. (shipping was 5 bucks so really the value is $20)
I have one from the smiths (shop lifters of the world unite) that's ultra rare and valued in the hundreds now (grant the bag had a rare picture of elvis on it which made it a cross over merchandise)

 don't take it personal. there are a couple people left still collect jane's stuff and you happen to be one of them. my desire to do it is gone along with most here. you will never make money doing it though. not really a demand left.

find an unreleased pre 91 pro shot or soundboard recording and i will get excited. that's about all that would do it for me these days.
