Tyler Durden, I hope you've got something fabulously snazzy and surreal to wear. Being in the front row and all. I imagine you must be feeling stressed about wearing just the right outfit.I would like to suggest that we all dress swank for the "Theater Of The Escapist". Reason being- this is an immersive theater experience, and you will all be with in the show. The style we are shooting for is 1920's Surrealist twisted with a dash of Warhol Pop. We may be chained together. I will really enjoy seeing you there
Have you thought about what you'll be wearing to the show?

I was really considering wearing a white Seattle Supersonics t-shirt, with a dash of yellow in it...

If I bother going to an LA area show which grows more and more questionable with every passing day, I'll be sure to dress up as Perry.
Re: Have you thought about what you'll be wearing to the sho
at first i thought that was a little mean, but then i realized that if you suspend your knowledge that its a vajeen and try to picture it as a work of art, it really looks like perry on the cover of TGEA, all gnarly and wrinkled and old - something that can be and has been plenty sexy but here just looks beat up and unappealing.Pandemonium wrote:If I bother going to an LA area show which grows more and more questionable with every passing day, I'll be sure to dress up as Perry.

Re: Have you thought about what you'll be wearing to the sho
Someone wear a shirt with that beached sonny picture on it.
Re: Have you thought about what you'll be wearing to the sho
If someone had one made I would. In fact, I'd be willing to wear any shirt that the good folks at ANR agreed upon. Just sayin. As long as it wouldnt get me assaulted. And I don't have to have it made.Six7Six7 wrote:Someone wear a shirt with that beached sonny picture on it.

Funny how no one is even discussing what Perry tweeted. He keeps implying (IMO) that there will be audience interaction. That frightens me from a "this shit is lame" standpoint. Also, the whole "style" aspect is annoying to me. If Perry's going to encourage audiences dress up, how about asking everyone to come dressed in the costume of their choice or something truly crazy and celebratory instead of some hipster sounding bullshit.

Yeah agreed with the "this shit is lame" aspect. I want to see a rock concert. It would be so much better if they played like a 20 song set and just focused on the music. There's no reason not to play more songs when you have such an impressive catalogue.hokahey wrote:Funny how no one is even discussing what Perry tweeted. NIN shows, which are the best I've been to, use some screen graphics and what not, but it's mainly about the music. And since Trent focuses on that, he is able to pull out a 2+ hour set with 25-30 songs. That's a real good concert.
I know Jane's is old and what not and are not concerned about having such an extensive set. But they can certainly do more than they've done if they cut out concentrating on the bullshit like "audience interaction" and "swank" clothes.
And I know, as everyone has said, that this shit won't happen, but it's still nice to dream.

Now that I think of it, I went to see Puscifer in November and they also did a theatre tour that took place in an opera house and included comedy/video/a set that Maynard literally set up in front of the audience that had a camp fire, an rv, chairs, a tent, etc. And it was awesome and not pretentious or laughable or cringeworthy at all.
I just feel like if Janes tried that it would be uncomfortably laughable.
