My only real issue with the band these days is that Perry just doesn't sound good. It's not nitpicking to want the lead singer to sing the actual melody of the song he's performing. I like some stuff on Strays and a lot of TGEA. Perry's just not trying and the backing tracks are lame.

Spot on.

We're apparently assholes though because we comment on the fact that he's half-assing it. :noclue:

Don't get me wrong. Hate all you want. But why come here? Why ruin what is still precious to us, who love the band still? Dont shit where we still eat assholes!
Current Jane's Addiction fans don't eat here. They can eat at ja.com or ja.org. This is where the JA community eats. Our liking of the band is hard to explain because it's closely related to a wide range of time-space conditions. You have to experience it to understand it. We came together because of them, and we grew from there.[blink]We grew beyond them.[/blink]So fuck you.
okay that's the funniest thing i've read here, ever, in response to the time tested, set your watch by it, beginning of the tour comment from a lurker who resents that ja's biggest fans are also their biggest critics. the evidence suggests that, for good, bad or indifferent, 'we grew beyond them' does not accurately describe the regulars here.

Agreed. The correct comment would be "We expect more from them"

For some people it's extremely painful finding out there's no such thing as Santa Clause and they lash out at the people who suggest it.

Jesus. All I was doing was speculating about Casey's emotional response to two songs that very much are about/for her being added to the set list after, I dunno, FOREVER. People have fucking emotions. It was fucking speculation. I'd have asked her myself on FB, but I don't like hassling people about shit that has meaning to them in a private way. And she apparently answered anyway, so all is fine.

To that person calling us out for being haters, I simply say that the Jane's I lived was incredibly meaningful in ways you might not get. I hope Muse does it for you. And if you like 2012 JA, have at: there's gonna be three legs to this tour!!!!!! :lolol:
