... I quit smoking!!

I smoked my last cig before my dental implant surgery on June 30th. I haven't touched a smoke or even had a puff.

I think the difference this time is that I really wanted to quit. In my previous efforts, I still wanted to smoke.

Besides the health benefits, I've saved over $1,500!! The brand I smoked was about $11 for a pack of 25, and on average I smoked about 3-4 packs per week.

I've smoked other things a handful of times, but never a cigarette. Unless Beedi's count as a cigarette. My ex used to smoke those things a lot

I thought the drinking situations would break me, but I haven't even been tempted.

Some of my furniture still smells like smoke though. I guess years of smoke soaking into the upholstery doesn't ever go away. It's really noticeable on these hot humid days we've been having lately.

I only bought a pack of smokes one time in my life. That was about three years ago for a friend of mine who came over to fix something on my car...it was a strange feeling.
I remember they were like seven bucks and I thought that was a lot. 11 dollars is ridiculous, you mustve smoked a better brand.

I smoked Benson&Hedges 100s. Actually,$11 was on the low end for most brands. At a 7/11 or Mac's Milk the same smokes were between $12-$13.

There are some cheaper brands and also cigarettes from native indian reserves. Those aren't sold in the shops though.

Convenience store markup on cigs is huge. Almost the entire profit a store owner makes is on cigarettes. The rest of the stuff in a convenience store is only there so that you buy cigarettes when you go in for a lottery ticket or a chocolate bar or a Coke.
