And got tickets to book of mormon. Maybe 2013 won't suck as much as I thought it would.
Glad to hear that things are looking better for you.

Besides posing in front of brick walls or chain link fences, barbed wire is the most overused prop cliche in rock band photography.crater wrote:I've never seen this picture before. I started laughing so hard at it, I now have a headache.

Well, I'm sure there are lot's of people who dig this and I respect that. But honestly, I'm not impressed. Not working for me. I found it kinda boring. If this moves you, then enjoy and support this artist. Music is a very diverse medium.

And what is the point of you having to absolutely go out of your way to make such a statement? You must be beyond bored if not boring yourself John.

So what exactly was it that moved you enough to go out of your way and post how unsatisfied you were with this artist? And a quite extensive response too.

I didn't find that with the younger Germans.. One of the Hamburgers (!) I met said that English has changed the way he counts... instead of the counter-intuitive normal German way of saying "Vierundzwanzig", he said he finds it helpful when doing math to say it in German as we would in English, so, "Zwanzig-vier"... because it means you're saying the number from left to right, as you'd read it... I guess Germans (and Old English) say it the other way because way back they didn't normally deal with numbers larger than 100 so you'd be saying it more efficiently for simple math... But it really makes no sense to say "One million, one thousand, four hundred, three and twenty..."Matz wrote: Germans are generally lost in space when it comes to the english language...except Warped of course, she's doing a good job. One reason is that they dub (completely ruin) all movies and tv shows so they don't hear it much....well, that's my little theory anyway
not just the one coming up, several current generations are definitely doing better. all German people (30's/40's and younger) that I´ve met are capable of speaking English pretty decently. it becomes difficult with generations of 50's +.Matz wrote:maybe the generation that's coming up now is doing better, that would be nice. I just know that a lot of the times when I contact a German about something on ebay e.g. I get some extremely funky replies from time to time. Even when it's regarding the simplest of things
I don't get why they don't protest in the streets to make that dubbing nightmare end
20th Century English dubbed Japanese movies were and probably still are the worst offenders. Woody Allen took an early 60's Japanese spy flick and basically threw in nonsensical dialog to poke fun at the entire genre of dubbed flicks:krakle wrote:the dubbing is terrible indeed.Matz wrote:
