Earlier this week we had to get her readmitted to the hospital when complications from last weeks surgery became a real issue. It seemed like they were on a path to get her issues under control but late last night only a couple hours after I came home from visiting her in ICU, I got a call to get back because she had asperated into her lungs and was on the verge of "coding." So the rest of last night and today they stabilized her and she just got through surgery and the kink in her bowel was fixed. She has a rough couple weeks ahead getting through infection and possible pneumonia w/asthma but I hope we'RE OVER THE HUMP.
What made your day today?

Re: What made your day today?
a partial lunar eclipse happening here right now. Pretty cool, haven't seen stuff like that in many years
Re: What made your day today?
as usual, this wasn't today, but last weekend I did a three day motorcycle trip to Lassen volcanic national park. Pretty much made my week.
What a spectacular place.
Tomorrow I leave for Big Sky Montana for a work conference, I've never been. I'm looking forward to it but i guess it's snowing today and tomorrow then supposed to be thunderstorms through Wednesday when I leave.
In Lassen park...

Looks like a nice trip!
Did you fit all your camping gear in that trunk or did you just do lodging?

I stayed in a motel. I have camped off the bike, but I didn't want to put the side bags on for this trip, and the motel was cheap!

it's been a few years since i have been out that way and it's really nice. i do remember getting a speeding ticket out there though.wally wrote:as usual, this wasn't today, but last weekend I did a three day motorcycle trip to Lassen volcanic national park. Pretty much made my week.

yeah, 35 all through the park. good thing though is that tickets you get in a NP don't count as points on your license.creep wrote:it's been a few years since i have been out that way and it's really nice. i do remember getting a speeding ticket out there though.wally wrote:as usual, this wasn't today, but last weekend I did a three day motorcycle trip to Lassen volcanic national park. Yeah, I couldn't imagine how you could fit what you needed in there, unless you were just doing ultra-lite bivouac or something.wally wrote:Thanks, yeah great times!mockbee wrote:Looks like a nice trip!

I took a trip on my bike through Lassen on my way back from Portland several years ago and camped. Isn't it great to go on a camping trip with a bike?!
It is awesome around Shasta and Lassen, in fact going up 101 through the Redwoods and back through central Oregon was all fantastic. I had only been riding for 3 or 4 months before the trip, which was probably not a good idea......
This is in central Oregon somewhere.

I'm down in FL visiting mom who is battling Stage 3b breast cancer, went to her 2nd to last chemo out of 18 treatments with her today and the oncologist said they believe she's cancer free and are doing the upcoming radiation just out of caution.
When she was diagnosed just before Thanksgiving and immediately had a mastectomy and a dozen lymph nodes and part of her sternum removed (weirdly the cancer had attached itself to the bone and was hard to diagnose for a full year) things looked really bad. He calls her his "Rockstar", she's had minimal side effects other than hair loss and a couple minor issues. I'm thankful and hopeful!

Completely spaced that I had to do online traffic school for the speeding ticket I got a few months ago. Had maybe two weeks left and got it over with this morning. Aced the fucker.
Re: What made your day today?

Dye job and haircut. Oh and not having to ride the subway today
Re: What made your day today?
watching 3 days right now.....there's so much of Dave in that thing .... he was a slightly narcissistic producer it seems, but that's ok, I'm not complaining
the songs sound so fuckin powerful and fast compared to what they do onstage nowadays. I wish they'd put Jane's to rest in 97, would have been beautiful

Got married in Hawaii a week and a half ago. Tonight was the delayed reception back home. It was stressful leading up to it, but was a lot a fun. Glad it's over, though. Got one more day to let it sink in, then back to work Tuesday.

Sharing any pics? Not even a landscape, if anonymity is important?
Have a great married life
