What made your day today?

I learned today that 'la coupe longueuil' means mullet in French.

This made my morning

There is no excuse, however, for careless or improper disposal, such as my friend Herb and I were witness too many years ago in Greenwich Village when we spied a sex toy in the street — not on the sidewalk, in the street. I’d tell you what it was but I am trying to stay within newspaper guidelines: O.K., think adult seesaw.
Herb and I gaped long and hard at this thing, first debating the anatomical possibilities (and you wonder what friends have to talk about after 40 years) then, as in “Law & Order,” trying to recreate the scene:
Had there been a lovers’ quarrel, during which this humongous shillelagh had been tossed out of a cab? If that was the case, why did the couple have the thing in the cab in the first place — stealing a kiss in the back seat is one thing, but that? Had it slipped out of someone’s shopping bag and then, even in the Village, was he or she too embarrassed to pick it up?
Awful, right? And imagine how much worse it would have been if it had been spotted when I was walking with a child.
“What’s that thing in the street, Auntie Joyce?”
“It’s a grown-up thing, sweetie. People buy them when they love each other very much. Or maybe not enough. One day when you’re grown up a man will fall in love with you. When that happens, bring up diamonds.”

Doug Ford's comments about his brother Rob Ford:
Ford said little while arriving at city hall on Monday, but his brother, Coun. Doug Ford, repeated their pledge to fight council's actions in court.
"This is a modern-day overthrow of an elected official. This is wrong," he told reporters.
"This is what you see in Third World nations … This is a modern-day coup d'état."

I've been spending the last few days polishing up my guitars and restringing all 41 I have at the house and I saw this lighting when I was doing that for these 3 and couldn't help but take a picture. Especially how the Gold Top kind of creates a halo effect on the LP Jr..
Re: What made your day today?
I dreamed that I met my old drums teacher and that he showed me some exercises. I wonder if I should start studying a bit of drums again. I wonder if it'd make me happy.

I'm glad this shit got cancelled

The game, organized by YCT UT, would allow students across campus to "catch" other students wearing the words "illegal immigrant" on their clothing and bringing them to UT's West Mall in exchange for a $25 gift card. According to the Facebook page, the game was intended to "spark a campus-wide discussion about the issue of illegal immigration."
Garcia said the event was canceled due to group members' worries that "the university will retaliate against them and that the protest against the event could create a safety issue for our volunteers."
Garcia also said that the idea for $25 gift card rewards was "misguided" and that the event was "intentionally over-the-top in order to get attention for the subject."

I bought into her bullshit for a second ten years ago when she was on Larry King live, hate to admit it. Just look at her, you can pretty much tell she's not firing on all cylinders
