Those are some pretty powerful photos, Jasper.

BTW, there's a new, even stronger hurricane forming in the Atlantic now called Katia that may affect the East Coast by mid next week.

I live in long beach, thankfully my place escaped any wind damage or flooding. 4 days later and everything's almost back to normal. It sucks that the quiksilver festival that was to coincide with the surf competition was cancelled. I was looking forward to checking out the flaming lips and interpol for free down the block from my house.
wait.
WHAT??
I knew about the surfing competition. But How did I not know about the show????

Imma in Oceanslime.
here's VIDEO of the guy jet skiing down Lawson Blvd.

Between Long Beach Rd and Edwards, where the big empty lot is at the boardwalk, was supposed to have a BMX showcase, a Skate area where Tony Hawk and others were to skate, and a stage for concerts. Interpol was supposed to headline Sunday and Flaming Lips next Friday. There was supposed to be music every day, Taking Back Sunday and some other lame stuff. Totally free. I heard that the Long Beach officials kept butting heads with Quiksilver about concert times and beer tents, so they used the hurricane as an excuse to cancel that portion. The actual competition is still on though.

Oh shoot...where the old Bowling Alley used to be!! That large plot of land that they never ever developed on!! That would of been some cool shit

YEA that creek that runs behind the railroad on Lawson totally flooded out the area. I was talking to the guys who work at the Hess station on the corner (near the East Rockway train station & they said the water was up to them :yikes:
That whole area near the Porthole (New St. near Davidson's Marina & Crows Nest Marina) was all flooded out.

The flooding has picked up again in parts of Vermont. I just had some friends evacuated from their home early this morning. More roads have been washed out. Apparently it's raining and it's going to rain all weekend, piling on the misery. Some people who were without power got it back yesterday, and they're offering showers and shelter to whomever needs it. There are people staying in the town hall next to where I used to live, which sucks, but at least it's somewhat nice, being on the national register of historic places.

This was the main road I used to go practically everywhere:

Back to normal. Some erosion, but not too much. I haven't been to the boardwalk in a few days so I don't know if they've moved the lifeguard station back to it's spot, not pressed up against the boardwalk. I'm assuming they have because the surf competition could start today, today starts the holding period of two weeks where they use the four best surfing days for the competition. Everything is back to normal.

yup. It's some plain greek yogurt, some blueberries, frozen berries (blue, rasp, and black), whey protein, carrots, and a whole lot of spinach.
The spinach is really the best part for me, I think... it's the only way I ever get raw leafy greens in my diet anymore. :jasper:

but yeah... I actually haven't been outside since last Friday.
I've heard there was a lot of damage (my town is on the shore), but my street didn't lose power.

I like your video, Bob. It's well done and humorous. :thumb:

Did you put it all together yourself?

You should consider acting...you'd be good, I think. You're very expressive.

That clip's actually funny and sorta compelling... well done.

Couple'a comments - at 4:25 you have a widow's peak with no hair - impressive. I checked out a couple other of your vids, you look like John Lithgow when you have hair.

Well I went to the Yacht Club yesterday where my relatives dock their boat. The boat had very minimal damage but the dock....HOLY CRAPOLA!! They have dockage right at ground level (they used to dock on the bay side) and the dock was lifted up at a 45 degree angle towards the water. So you had to step up about 2 feet from the ground onto the dock and then walk on a slant to board.
They said the bay side dock where they used to be is so bad with parts missing that some people can't get to their boats.
Plus I just realized that any plants or grass that got soaked with salt water is brown and dying.
