today's rap is straight up losing a generation to jail and graves..sucks
This song was a tribute to lil peep and xxxtentation..."What's the 27 club? We ain't making it past 21" he just turned 21 this week
This kid had it...
I have no familiarity with rap past the 90s...... and haven't ever explored it, don't really know where to start. But damn, this just hooked me immediately.
RIP

RIP, Regis Philbin 88
Apparently, he died of natural causes according to his family. I didn't realize he was that old.

^I didn't watch his morning talk show, but whenever I saw him on David Letterman it was always a fun show. He was hysterical.

I dunno if I'd say "RIP," maybe more like "BIH" to Phil Spector.
He caught Covid in a California prison serving a sentence for murdering a woman he picked up at the Hollywood House of Blues, bringing her back to his place and depending on the story, either purposely or accidently shot her in the face. He was sick enough he was transferred to a local Hospital (all in SoCal are totally overwhelmed with Covid patients right now) getting treated for severe symptoms, was well enough to go back to jail and a week or so later, symptoms got bad again and he cratered.
Probably the ultimate example of separating an artist as a person from their work. On one hand, he was a landmark producer who was extremely influential in the sound of many key albums and bands in the late 60's and 70's.
On the other hand, dude was an absolute scumbag psycho creep, numerous examples of physical and psychological abuse against people, especially his wife Ronnie Bennett of the Ronettes who he kept a virtual prisoner in his mansion for 4 years, pulled loaded guns (in some cases, firing off rounds) on everyone from The Ramones to John Lennon and Leonard Cohen. You read his history, it's no surprise he eventually wound up shooting and killing somebody.

I never heard what Spectors defense was and accidents like that i'm sure have happened, but you shouldn't be waving a loaded gun pointed at someones face

Sad to see Marvin Hagler pass away. Can't remember a boring fight of his, and he didn't duck anyone. That first round against Tommy Hearns is legendary.

best first round ever rip....back in the day the ppv house parties to watch fights were huge everywhere....even into tysons era where mike would ko someone in 40 seconds and the whole house of people would be all "not worth" it lol.....that fight was "worth it" after round one
I'll always know him as Chalky White, from my favorite show of all time. Sunday Nights with Boardwalk Empire was a bright spot during some tough years. But I knew each Fall meant football and Boardwalk, and that gave me something to look forward to.

He was awesome on Lovecraft Country, which I just learned while clicking around had been canceled back in July even though they had just started the writing for season 2. Which I guess ended up being a good thing it was canceled because there was no possible way to continue the show without him imo.

RIP to the 9 people who died at the Astroworld festival in Houston.
So, messed up! WTF happened there?? Rumours of people being injected with fentanyl?
I am thankful that in all my years of going to concerts and festivals, nothing really bad happened. For me, one of the worst things I experience at a concert was a really wasted guy in front of me puke all over the back of a girl standing in front of him.

Security was not ready and the layout of that place was not conducive for a fest as they didn't logistically plan it out very well. Travis Scott and the production company are going to be on the hook for a lot of damages and RIP to the 9 that lost their lives and the hundreds more still not out of the woods yet
