I was just saying with all those teams maybe more than USC will do something.

Either way, I think they start next season in the top 5 since they only lose 1 player on offense and really none of the standouts on defense.

Congrats.

The only game that matters is next week though, while the games today were good they mean nothing. Hopefully both Oregon and USC are good next year since they don't play in the reg season so the Pac 12 title game will mean something too.

Either Bama or LSU will be good at the end of the year and the other 116 or so teams will not be. Hopefully Bama wins and there is another split title.

Yea, it looks like Oregon is going the cupcake non-conference route next year, so most likely undefeated Oregon vs USC in PacChamp game. Hopefully Pac-12 can stay competitive so there are quality wins.

looking forward to seeing this guy again for soph season....154 yards -two carrys... average 77 yrds a carry.... :yikes:

Yeah he had a TD return against USC and was a USC decommit he's definitely a good talent. He will replace James but they're losing a lot off of this team this year as is Stanford. I'm willing to bet that both SC and Oregon will get into BCS bowls next year and if both are undefeated going into that game one of them will have a shot at getting a title, until the Pac 12 wins another national title it will always be considered Oregon and USC then the rest. There will be a lot of points in the conference next year but the team with the best defense will probably win the conference.

Well looks like no split title and also looks like Saban is going to be a great coach for Bama for quite sometime. Dude has 3 titles now.

I really enjoyed that game.....a bit surprised as I'm a scoring junkie, but that D was a thing to behold. I liked bama's modest disposition after the game as well. :thumb:

Yeah well I mean they expected to be able to do that. And holding them to 92 yards and shutting them down completely this was probably the best defense I have ever seen. Better than the 2008 Trojans, and better than the 92 Bama team.

I would honestly like them to be ranked maybe #6 or so with everyone coming back, so they can play the disrespect angle thru out the season and not have any let down losses.

Wooo-hoo....?

I suppose this means competetive PAC-12 teams can now play cupcake teams to start the season like the SEC....as long as there are two in the top 10 at the end to leverage the winner up... :noclue:

I think playoffs would be interesting, but I'm not too keen on the 4-team structure that they've announced. I would think an 8 to 10 team structure would be a lot better.

oh... I thought this was PAC-12 playoffs.... :noclue: I think it's a good step for 4 teams to start, for the national championship. That way the bowl games stay somewhat in tact. There is a lot of history there that would be a shame to just scrap. Though, I can't say they haven't already ruined the traditions...... no good answers.

imho this is perfect...this is about deciding who the number 1 team is...if a team doesn't make the playoff it's because people couldn't agree they were a top 4 team...so i don't feel bad for them...it always seems to be 1 2 and a fringe 3rd team that doesn't make it..after all when was the last time 4 teams went undefeated? this will be exactly what i wanted it's basically an add one....with rankings going into bowl selection...with all the big conf championship games will be easy to pick a couple teams as your 1 and 2 and still have room for that random team from the shitty conf that went undefeated like boise and such
love that it's gonna run for a full 10 years...i bet it stays this way for a long ass time

Forget that thought............

Meet Marcus Mariota. Redshirt Freshman. 6'-4 211.
Played less than half a game.

Image
Mariota was simply fantastic on Saturday, leading the Ducks to seven touchdowns on his seven series, going 18-for-22 for 200 yards and three TDs with one sack and no interceptions, and also rushing four times for 24 yards.

Best of all, the redshirt freshman showed all the intangibles a quarterback needs to run Oregon's hyperspeed spread-option offense -- he was poised, crisp, decisive, quick.

In short, he looked like a star in the making.

Well, you have to win these games first off, and secondly, I really had no clue how this guy Mariota was going to pan out, and I don't know if you watched the Oregon game, but the second string in the second half was like night and day vs our first string. Arkansas State is no New Mexico, they won 10 games last season. It's an awesome start, what more could we ask for. :noclue:
