Secret Santa?

#1 Post by Larry B. » Fri Dec 07, 2012 6:34 am

I don't know if we/any Jane's community has done something like this in the past... but we could do some sort of secret santa thing, if enough people are up for it. Maybe via Amazon wishlists, that seems to be the easiest way to purchase something for someone without compromising their privacy.

Since most shipments to Chile cost around US 15, I could stay out of it and simply (and randomly) assign who gets whom.

Too dumb?

Sounds kick ass but I doubt I'll participate.

Your sweetness is flabbergastedly moving :cona: (yes, flabbergastedly)

OK, so we have two... One Canadian and one Chilean. We also have an American Grinch. Let's see how this goes.

I really couldn't care less about the date, btw. I was simply thinking of exchanging gifts within this community of sorts, which can be kinda neat considering how many years we've interacted in these Interwebz.

These holidays are an excuse. It can be Secret Santa, Secret Wise Men, Secret Jesus, Secret Moshe, Secret Jalapeño-Krishna or whomever the fuck you want your gifts from

Ok, if date doesn't matter, I'm in. Does it have to be a wish list? Cause I propose we should send whatever we want, where's the surprise if you have a wish list? I've had very bad experiences exchanging gifts. When I was a kid I made the mistake of giving what I would like to get, and instead I usually got a noteblock and crayons, seriously

well, i already said i'll get something for larry.
since larry came up with the idea he could draw names out of a hat and PM the people who are participating to let them know who they have to buy for.
like perkana suggested, it could be anything. doesn't have to be expensive.
we all PM larry our addresses so he can include it when he seends the name to the person.

then, when we have received our item we take a pic and post it.

That sounds perfect

We could set a limited budget, like... 25 or 30 dollars?

Anybody else?

Well, I think it should be whatever a person can afford. For example, Farrellgirl is a student. How about maximum $25?

I already have 1 item for you Larry B.

OK, so let's get this thing going, shall we? PM me your addresses; I already have a couple, and as soon as I get them all (hopefully not past the 12th) I'll let you know who you'll be sending your dirty underwear to...
