What's your favourite kind of berry?
Because knowing what kind of nut you are isn't enough.
I have settled on blackberries.

No blackberries?! That's racist.
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
blackberries all the way
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I went with Blackberry.
I'm honestly surprised that "Dingle" was not an option.

Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I had a list of like 20 berries (and pseudo-berries... like blackberries and strawberries) so I couldn't put them all... I wanted to add pumpkin and tomato... But if I'd had unlimited space to add choices, I'd've added "funny" ones like that.
Also... I learned yesterday that currants are not even in the same family as grapes, but they look just like them.

BTW, thank you for teaching me that avocados and grapes are berries. To me, they were just 'fruits.' And here we eat avocados as salad, not as fruits. The first time I ate it like a fruit was in Brazil, and it was delicious. Avocado ice-cream...

Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I've been making a lot of guacamole lately because we're getting masses of cheap avocados up here... I've taken to using it as a sandwich spread in wraps (instead of lettuce) with tomato and cucumber... pretty tasty.
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
we eat almost everything with avocado here...I like it though I'm not crazy about eating it in salads

1. Blueberries
2. Raspberries
3. Strawberries / Blackberries more or less tied.
I refuse to consider anything without "berry" in its name.

Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I had difficulty with that too ... pumpkins and tomatoes are berries. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, aren't.Jasper wrote:1. Blueberries

Also, as I said, this board only allows up to 10 options, so I ran out, and forgot to make #10 "Other"...

Blueberries. I'm sick of blackberries. Every year there are too many, and if you eat too many, you're sick. Plus the big seeds suck. Blueberries are the ultimate berry.
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I generally eat it like that: just slice the avocado in half, remove the seed, remove the flesh with a spoon, smash it down, spread it on some bread, done.Adurentibus Spina wrote:I've been making a lot of guacamole lately because we're getting masses of cheap avocados up here... Another preparation I like is just cut up in slices, mixed with lettuce and celery. Add some salt and lemon juice and you have a very light green salad.
Finally, I like mixing it with tomato cut down to small cubes, smash it all down together and add some salt. On hot dogs it's great. Also with bread, nachos, chips, etc.
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
I love eating sandwiches like this, but instead of mayonaise I use avocado
Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
That's almost guacamole, just add onion and some serrano and voilá! (I would advice to add some lime juice (just a bit) so it doesn't turn brown so soon, in my family we think that leaving the pit in the guacamole to avoid that is just a myth)Larry B. wrote:

Re: What's your favourite kind of berry?
As far as I understand it, a guacamole only requires the mashed avocado really... you don't need the tomato, you can add garlic, onion, cilantro, chilis, etc.
I agree that lime juice is a necessity if you're not eating it right away (and even if you are). I usually add a ton of cilantro and tomato, because I love it. It's like Mexican tabbouleh.

Totally the way to go, soak the onion in water for a few minutes.perkana wrote:That's almost guacamole, just add onion and some serrano and voilá! I've never used garlic, I even leave out cilantro.
