I can get where you're coming from when people were quoted calling Kersh "Clayton Crenshaw" I really understood why you hate Dodgermania. But at the end of the day there's always 1 winner. Hopefully they do not do anything drastic like trade the kids away for Stanton.

As painful as it was for you dealing with the bandwagon this was a helluva series 7 games and 5 of them were back and forth pretty much the whole time.

 Great series! I'm not a die-hard baseball fan and I really enjoyed this particular match-up.

Sad news...

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/07/spor ... plane.html
Roy Halladay Dies in Plane Crash in Gulf of Mexico

Roy Halladay, a retired pitcher who starred for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies, died on Tuesday when his plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida.

The crash was reported to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office by a private resident at 12:06 p.m. Eastern, and when law enforcement arrived on the scene, the plane, an Icon A5 registered to Halladay, was upside down in shallow water.

After four hours of search and recovery, Sheriff Chris Nocco reported that Halladay was the only victim of the crash and said the specifics of the crash were still under investigation. Halladay was 40.

Nocco, who made a plea for people to leave Halladay’s family alone while they process the news, referred most of the questions involving the crash to the National Transportation Safety Board, which will be taking over the investigation, but he said there was no mayday call received by the Tampa Bay airport before the crash.

“We are numb over the very tragic news about Roy Halladay’s untimely death,” the Phillies said in a statement posted to Twitter. “There are no words to describe the sadness that the entire Phillies family is feeling over the loss of one of the most respected human beings to ever play the game.”

A two-time Cy Young Award winner and eight-time All-Star, Halladay was a 6-foot-6 right-hander who was known for his durability and his command.

After 12 seasons with the Blue Jays he was traded to the Phillies in 2009. He proceeded to have a career year in 2010 in which he threw baseball’s 20th perfect game during the regular season, and then in a division round matchup with Cincinnati, he threw the second no-hitter in postseason history.

He retired after the 2013 season.

Halladay was known for his love of flying, and in October he posted pictures of the plane he had recently purchased.

one of the best baseball games ive ever been to was a pitcher's duel between roy halladay and randy johnson. they played in like two hours flat and halladay 3-hit the yankees. it was a master class in pitching. and i sat next to a drunk cricket team from england who were visiting nyc and at their first baseball game. they were hilarious and had no clue how baseball worked. i remember one guy was complaining about how long the game was lol and to this day, i have never attended a shorter game.

very sad for his family. everything ive read makes him sound like a really good guy.

It was hard to like baseball in those days when Doc was pitching for the Jays... he was really the only great thing about those teams, except maybe Carlos Delgado. The teams sucked.

Reading about his new hobby, he seems like he may have been a bit nuts... taking stupid risks. Still, really sad. Made me think of Roberto Clemente.

That plane is built locally near me and recently the top test pilot for the company died in one of the planes. After this crash I don't see a bright future for this company.

It looks super fun to fly though

Cole Hamels is on the mound tonight for the Cubs. I've never seen a resurgence like the one he's going through right now.

Lester, Javy, Rizzo, and a little help from the rest and the Cubs should be fine for tonight.

In recent years I just can't past the fact that any reg season game is meaningless, the antiquated written and unwritten rules, and the general ancient feel of the game. Having said that, the Dodgers have been unbelievable disappointing to their fans....the stadium is a wreck, parking is brutal, and prices are astronomical. I looked up team salaries and the Giants were #1 unbelievably  , and the A's were the lowest, by far....would love to see them do real damage
