Fake Ass Earthquake
I didn't feel a thing in midtown Manhattan...I'm sure there were some tremors, but I don't care what number they give it...no mass destruction, no real trouble...move along, nothing to see here...

Re: Fake Ass Earthquake
A friend who lives in Washington DC said it was a very strong quake in her area. Her account:Essence_Smith wrote:I didn't feel a thing in midtown Manhattan...I'm sure there were some tremors, but I don't care what number they give it...no mass destruction, no real trouble...move along, nothing to see here...
"I am working from home today and was on the phone when the house suddenly started to shake. I heard a rumbling noise and thought that the water main on the street was ready to burst. The City is currently working to replace the water main on my block. The shaking lasted for no more than a minute, but I ran out of the house because I thought my roof was going to cave in. My neighbor was also outside and he said that it was an earthquake! He said that he used to live in California and that he knows what a quake feels like. I could see the house shaking while I was outside, but then it stopped. Scared me half to death! I'm curious to find out if it was indeed an earthquake. I'm still shaky."

Felt it for 15 seconds in Jersey, that was some weird shit.
Didn't Virginia learn from last time that it's not a good idea to try to break away from the United States?

Here in California we call that Tuesday...
Re: Fake Ass Earthquake
I'm sure it must feel quite strongly if you're under a roof that wasn't designed with earthquakes in mind.

People are FREAKING out in NYC! Calm down!! I realize we are always in hypermode but still.
Dave's tweet was funny though

Im near the airport in Boston, and our building was shaking pretty signifigantly. I used to live in the Oaktown, so not a total rookie to earthquakes. This building is definately not retrofitted for that.

Felt it up here too. I didn't feel anything, but a couple of my co-workers said they felt a swaying sensation. I'm on the top floor of my building -17th/fl.

Well, we're way overdue for a big one, that's for sure.krakle wrote:it's saving up for a big fart...Pandemonium wrote:It's been pretty calm the last few years here in SoCal.MYXYLPLYX wrote:Here in California we call that Tuesday...
I occasionally picture local areas like Huntington Harbor and the Balboa Penninsula faring poorly if we ever had a Japan '11 or Indian Ocean '04 scale earthquake and tsunami hit off SoCal coasts. Any time I go down to The Wedge, I see the tsunami warning signs and horn there and feel a bit uneasy.
