Buttoning Shirt

#1 Post by LJF » Fri Jun 21, 2013 6:01 am

When you put on a shirt do you button bottom up or top down and when you take your shirt off do you unbutton bottom up or top down?

I was having this discussion with my wife this morning, I'm bottom up and top down she is top down for both.

Top down (both.)

I feel that starting from the bottom is sort of child-like.

Top to bottom, unless I fuck it up.

I wear black tees 95% of the time though and to this day have to go to youtube to tie a tie.

Thanks for bringing this up, I've been thinking a lot about this recently.

I'm, like you, bottom up when getting dressed and top down when taking it off. Zip style.

I've been asking friends and this answer was wierd to me. She first buttons the button at bra level next the one above that finally she buttons down from the first one she buttoned. Seems to complicated to me.

I was thinking she must have big boobs if that' where she starts. Or, she wears tight shirts and wants to make sure the buttons don't come undone across the bust area.

I button top down both ways.

Not big at all, Perry wouldn't be singing about them.

I button from about the bottom of my sternum down (about center of a shirt) and depending on my mood, the shirt and whether it's hot or not, I may button one or two or all the way up if I'm wearing a tie.

I forgot to mention I sometimes wear a thin t-shirt under an almost completely open shirt. So just one button there.

Kinda like...

Button up when dressing, button down when undressing (sometimes just pull my shirt off without unbuttoning it)

I'm serious! In fact, today I bought some clothes, including -obviously- a shirt and a t-shirt to wear underneath.

Gotta do it as long as I can pull it off
