invisalign
does anyone know anyone that has had invisalign? my teeth aren't that jacked up but i've always wanted really strait teeth. i have a friend that is a dentist so i would get it at cost but i'm just curious if anyone here had had any experience with it?
Re: invisalign
i think one of my co-workers had it. she had braces, but i'm not sure if it was the invisalign. she was in her late 40s or early 50s when she had it done. she wanted a perfect smile for her daughter's wedding. anyway, i'll ask her tomorrow..
Re: invisalign
invisalign are removable plastic trays so if you noticed actual braces they weren't invisalign.
Re: invisalign
ok, i don't think it was invisalign then.

Looks like my mouthguard, my bite is crooked, could I use this too?creep wrote:invisalign are removable plastic trays so if you noticed actual braces they weren't invisalign.
Re: invisalign
probably not. they straighten teeth and you get a series of trays that you change every two weeks.perkana wrote:Looks like my mouthguard, my bite is crooked, could I use this too?creep wrote:invisalign are removable plastic trays so if you noticed actual braces they weren't invisalign.
Re: invisalign
are the trays worn 24hrs a day?
Re: invisalign
yup...you take them out to eat. that's it. your teeth look a little odd when in but not too bad.Artemis wrote:are the trays worn 24hrs a day?
Re: invisalign
my niece has them.
You just have to take them out to eat or drink. And it does take longer to straighten out your teeth than traditional braces

Re: invisalign
i canceled my appointment today. my teeth aren't that jacked up to justify the cost. even though i was getting a deal it was still close to 4K.
Re: invisalign
what about veneers?
They cost less and won't damage your teeth like Bonding or caps

On average, Lumineers or traditional veneers can cost anywhere between $800 and $2,000 per tooth, depending on individual cases and needs. Factors that will influence the cost of treatment are case difficulty, size, geography, and more. Only your Certified Lumineers Dentist can truly determine the cost of your case based on your specific needs.
Re: invisalign
depends how many teeth they have to cover.
My dentist quoted me $250 a tooth and I needed 4 covered (but there would have to be some gum lasering to make things even etc...)

Re: invisalign
The cosmetic dentistry has become super expensive nowadays but it is value for money because you can get desired look of your teeth. Well, my personal experience with the dentist Manhattan Beach was great. He has helped me to change the look of my froth teeth and provided the teeth whitening treatment as well.

Re: invisalign
My wife's best friend is a dentist who does a lot of cutting edge cosmetic dentistry. I remember a couple years ago during one of my cleanings she asked if I was interested in any sort of bridges (I have a couple teeth missing in the back of my lower jaw from wisdom tooth impact/extraction in my twenties) and she mentioned invisalign trays to space the rest of the teeth better. It seemed really expensive (about $5k+ with the "friend" discount) and she warned that once you stop, teeth *may* drift back towards their original positions over the following years. I've made it through nearly 60 years with the teeth I have, they're not bad as is, so I didn't see a need to go through the cost and hassle.
