By sharing, I didn't mean share a folder, I meant sending an e-mail to the person you want to know about your upload. That's what I do. I don’t know about your service. As I said, I would look in your service's FAQ page or actually just google "how to alert someone when I do an upload on ____".I want to be able to alert my acct payable in real time when I upload that particular invoice.

what system or method are you using to store the data?
Re: Since the moderatators aren't tech gurus
Google shared drive. The search I did said to go to tools then alert notifications. Tools only exist in the actual files uploaded not for folders. I think the invited people might have to set up their own alerts.

Pm me ur email and I can have a test when I get home. Pretty sure I've done it before.

Yes, they have. That was what I was thinking. With dropbox app I receive notifications when I upload something. But I have to have notifications turned on.SR wrote:Google shared drive. I guess this is what you found on Google drive's forums:
Notifications
You can set notifications to find out when other people have modified your spreadsheets, and learn what they've modified. You can also choose how often you'd like to be notified.
Set notifications
Open the spreadsheet where you want to set notifications.
Go to the Tools menu and select Notification rules.
In the window that appears, select when and how often you want to receive notifications.
When:
“Any changes are made”
“A user submits a form”
How often:
“Email - daily digest”
“Email - right away”
Click Save.
What you will see in notifications
When receiving notifications, you and other editors will see the usernames of people who have made changes. Viewers can set notifications but can't see usernames. You won't be sent notifications about your own changes.
