Ahhh. It feels like I'm sitting on a new recliner. I'm happy that this group won't die. I was feeling lost not checking xiola every few hours.

So to Hoka or whoever set this up... :tiphat:

Oh, one thing that I'm going to be upset about. I'm pretty sure my join date on xiola was the earliest possible date you could have. I'm a day late on signing up here. For some reason that bothers me.

ben

Sue...

My brain is freezing up here - this is the exact reason sonny's method of closing was too aggressive. It was destructive of relationships with people who may not have been daily posters.

*edit*

In unrelated news, anyone with a short name from the old forum could always try special characters, if they are allowed.

For instance, "ES" could become:

E.S.
E_S
E-S
~ES~

or something like that.
*ES*

I know the actual ES uses "Essence Smith," but you get the point.

Where's Obblenaut? I miss seeing Donald Sutherland pointing at me as though I were some invading body snatcher.

I think that's the body-snatched version of Sutherland at the end of the film, who is pointing out his still-human former-friend who had just mistaken Sutherland for his human self. That was a freaky movie when I was a kid. I had the Mad Magazine version too.

I agree, I don't like the name-changes. If, in real life, your good friend, Joe, one day told you that you had to refer to him as "Jacques," from then on, you'd probably laugh in his face and keep calling him Joe -- or you'd just tell him to fuck himself and walk away. :noclue:

Oh, and Larry didn't have to sneak in the backdoor, he's just being an ass.

i don't get it. i was one of the people that wanted him back. i guess he just wants to push the limits and get on everyone's nerves until hoka has enough and then he can complain about getting banned again.

Are you guys really sure it's larry b?
Just because you see 1 IP address from Chile, doesn't mean it's larry. Surely, he is not the only JA fan in Chile who would post on a message board.

Phenobarb Bambalam (sp?)

I think Lizardwiz was banned by Sonny around the end of 2010 or just stopped posting on Xiola after everyone dog piled on him over something or another.

Also, several guys who had actual bands going who'd posted clips of their tunes on Xiola the past few months. That was one of the big things about this group, no other music board I'm on has so many legitimately creative folk on it.

His email address also has Larry in it. I refuse to believe there's another Larry from Chile that just happened to stumble upon this place.
