Well, I wasn't in this group, just opened for them many times and we know each other. They always dropped my band name in interviews, so they were very nice to me. Yeah, believe me I feel like I'm missing the scene back home. :banghead:

I bet,, Portland has a great music scene.. Builders and Butchers, Morning Teleportation, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Portugal the Man, Red Fang etc. etc...

Doug Fir is one of my favorite places to see a show...

So for shits and giggles, I had a look at the "auditions" section in my local area and see this... read thru the influences..

So I did a extended weekend trip to Florida for a wedding in Miami and my wife and I took an over-nighter and stayed in Cocoa Beach near Cape Kennedy up the coast so we could do the full day tourist thing at the space center.

This was my second visit to the Cape, I cannot emphasize how amazing the entire launch complex/space center is, it really was a remarkable time in the 60's when they put this whole thing together in less than a decade to get men to the Moon and carried it through the Shuttle era. I paid for the full tour inside the gigantic Vehicle Assembly Building where they stacked the Saturn rockets and space shuttles - kinda weird that it's now basically an empty building with no one working there. Saw a few alligators in ditches and ponds and weirdly a number of roadkill pigs on long stretches of the highway up the coast - I guess they are a growing problem in Florida.

Miami was .... ok. It's kind of like a grungier version of Hawaii, hotels on the beach as far as the eye can see and bad traffic even now during off season. Took an afternoon while the wife and all the other girls got their hair and makeup done and cruised and walked some beaches, don't think I have a need to return. The wedding itself was at the Bride's parents home who obviously are pretty wealthy - the place was very beautiful, like a large plantation. Interestingly, it was very cool, much cooler than here in Southern California, especially at night where it got down to the high 30's. Here's a few shots:

Regardless of the year and your wardrobe, you just scream 80s. Nice pictures :thumb:

With a dark tie, you would have a Secret Service vibe.

Yep, yep, yep!!! On-line from 4pm UK time... that's my whole evening sorted. Big-wave surfing is magical / brutal to watch.

Where are you man... not Denmark? It starts in like 45 minutes (they've just officially called it on) so that's 5pm up there isn't it? I can't wait for it to start!

Congratulations! I hope everything is going well... and you know, today it could be a good time for a trip to the nearest 'toy store'... if you catch my drift... :hehe:
