I'm sure whole foods didn't raise their prices. everything they sell is overpriced.Artemis wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 5:16 amDespicable. A high end food store here got called out for charging $30 for a container of wipes. The store owner apologized and said it was a clerical error. Yeah, sure it was.

Yeah, I think $2 is probably standard for their generic single rolls.
Add a buck or two for the"organic" sustainably harvested, premium quality, 200% recycled roll....
They're not called Whole Paycheck for nothing...ive left there before with a simple lunch box and drink and was $25 lighter for it....

Pine Pallets and scrap rebar.
FREE stock materials.
Time on my hands.
THere's potential for 20 more where this came from!
Have 6 plates to work with now.
Also, Creep will appreciate this. Two days ago I was cruising around industrial PDX and saw a Packing & Crater business had discarded a GIGANTIC 2x wood framed box to protect whatever mechanical equipment inside the box. Anyways, spend an hour and a half and dissasembled the whole thing and came away with (42) 2x4s at 10' lengths. Almost clean, just a couple nails left to pull (42!!!)
FREE and clear. Maybe it makes more sense to spend $200 and pick them up at Home Depot......but this was more fun and I have time on my hands....

Wow! You really did hit the jackpot! I looked into delivery at a couple of places here but it is so backed up. I would receive an order in about 2 weeks and no guarantee all my requested items woule be available. This morning I went to a large supermarket near my place to shop and it was pretty good. The line up when I got there looked intimidating but it was very organized and efficient. They had security guards monitoring the number of people going in an out, shopping carts were available only outside with a couple of people wiping down the handles after each return. Of course, the line had markings to maintain the proper 2 metre distance apart. Once inside there were a couple of stations with multiple hand sanitizer dispensers. I had my list, got my items, joined a line to pay that was very well organized as well, a person would direct you to a cashier. All in a ll, very smooth. I didn't wear a mask but I sanitized my hands on the way out and washed my hands as soon as I got home along with wiping down the groceries, washed my hands again.
Re: What made your day today?
just dumb luck, I prob caught a cancellation and hit the site at the perfect time....food was here within 3 hours of order...got every item but one...very different from our order two weeks ago where almost every single item was replaced with a sub
Re: What made your day today?
Thanks Doc!
Below are some other pieces I completed a while ago.....
I have quite a few more, but haven't got around to taking photos.
I am excited about the stuff I am setting up for in the shop!
Re: What made your day today?
I had a couple rotten bananas about a month ago, and this was the start of corona thinking here, so I thought I should freeze these and use them later.
So I dragged them out of the freezer and defrosted them. They were black and oozing some dark liquid and slimy and disgusting...but I thought I could still make bread from them. I got a recipe and I happened to have all the ingredients (sort of.... ) I didn't have sugar but had a box full of sugar packets for coffee....it called for 2/3 cup sugar, so I emptied packets until I got 2/3 cup.....If you were wondering...that's 34 packets of sugar........
Anyways....first time I have ever baked bread and first time I have baked ANYTHING in over 20 years......
Turned out great. Very moist inside and crunchy/crispy crust and just right sweet. It's more a bread with hints of banana.....
Thanks Corona!!

I fucken love banana bread. Good work.
Re: What made your day today?
That’s really cool! Today I baked my 4th banana bread since our lockdown began. I also cooked like the 6th pizza. It’s actually in the oven as I type this. Two kinds of cheese, corn, two types of ham, pickles, oregano.

Re: What made your day today?
I managed to slice my left index finger very badly cutting veg on Monday night, possibly the worst cut I've ever given myself. I patched it up pretty well and yesterday morning it was still pouring blood like it was coming out of a tap (sorry, faucet ) So I ring 111 (the non emergency line) as to whether I should go to a walk in centre or A&E. I got through pretty much immediately and the guy was very professional about everthing including asking me if it was self harm etc...Then I got call back from a GP 10 minutes later double checking what was wrong who then advised me to go straight to A&E. Pretty obvious you're probably thinking but I didn't want to burden the health service anymore by just going straight to A&E. Anyway, I arrived, got my temperature taken at the door, was given a mask and was in an out in half an hour. They couldn't glue it or stitch it as all the skin had gone too The nurse put some special covering over the wound which has gone hard and (hopefully) it will clot within 7 days.
Anyway, our NHS is amazing, we're very lucky to have it. Hard working and professional.
