Re: What made your day today?
I realised that I hadn't noticed that the little battery icon on my phone goes green when it's charging, and is white all the other times (until it's in the danger zone of course)..... I seem to live in a bubble.... and yet have not been hit by a bus.. Excellent...

To be honest, I didn't notice that for a long time either.nausearockpig wrote:I realised that I hadn't noticed that the little battery icon on my phone goes green when it's charging, and is white all the other times (until it's in the danger zone of course)..... Re: What made your day today?
I just bought a ticket(a cheap one $45) to WWE Monday Night Raw on Nov 21st!
Can't wait! I've always wanted to go one of these. On the 20th it's WWE Survivor Series but that's sold out. There are some VIP packages for $715 left..

Being a patron of the arts.
At the motorcycle training school I run we store the bikes and gear in shipping containers. Until this weekend they were mostly all a very drab beige. A few months ago I was having a beer at a spot called Quartyard in San Diego which uses re-purposed shipping containers for a bar and restaurant, there were two guys painting a mural on one of the boxes so we struck up a conversation. That led to a crew of five artists painting the boxes this weekend....
Patch Whisky
GhostBeard
Skye Walker
Mr DVICE

Each of those boxes is 40' long x 10' high.
The colors are SO bright.
1st pieces on the west coast by patch and ghost, now they're on their way to do a wall at Art Basel in Miami

Re: What made your day today?
Those murals reminded me of the ones the locals of the town of Pachuca helped painting to make their neighborhood look better:
There's also this project for street artists to paint murals in the town of Ecatepec. It's a very dangerous town, but at least it's starting to look pretty to cheer people up.

Those Pachuca murals are so cool, really transformed the place.
In an unrelated note, flights to Mexico City are super cheap from Tijuana right now so my gf and I are looking into getting down there.

The lady who plays the waitress in this scene in Portlandia? I just realized I worked with her for a year and a half. That was a trip to rewatch the episode and be like, wait a minute.. I think I know her..
Yeah, she was in sales at my last job. Small world. or small city, at least.
