i did in college. it was more about being poor and being able to bump up the alcohol content. it was fun but i hated the sterilization process. i pretty much skipped that.
in my speech class i did a presentation on how to make your own beer. i hauled all my equipment to class.

Haven't since the 90's too much good cheap craft beer
I'm old, I know what I like I could drink Guinness or trader joes stockyard ale till I die....or Anderson valley....gimmie a dry Choco/coffee stout and I'm solid...if it's summer and 90 gimmie Pacificos or corona
If i am froggy there are a million places with pick your 6 deals on everything else...I threw my home brew stuff in the trash before 2k hit
It's much like weed...everyone grows when they are young...now that it is legal here I still will just go buy it..easy peasy...,when I made beer I had a oatmeal wheat stout because it was hard to find...it isn't now so why bother
And like creep said...it was all about high alcohol content...haven't drank a bud ice in decades lol

nice! he's got it going on there.....ive been on and off of it the last few years - and i go off of it because i live in the pacific northwest and we have tons of craft brews here and i do like to change it up a lot sometimes
but it is still lots of fun to brew my own overall

I'm thinking about getting back into it because any beer that isn't a lager is really hard to find and expensive here. Just burnt out on piss beer lately. Thinking about doing a Jubelale clone.
