Jury duty...3 hrs just to change my date...to do it all over from scratch

Cleaning the grill after smoking ribs yesterday. I left the water pan in there overnight and I guess some of the water leaked out... gross black and orange shit. Was worth it, but still annoying.

I only like a handful of movies Wilder did, notably the Mel Brooks trio, Wonka and Stir Crazy but he left an indelible impression in those roles and always seemed to project a sort of odd melancholy. 2016 is really culling a lot of the greats.

All is well. It has been a whirlwind with doctors, tests, and procedures. On Tuesday, I met with a surgeon who was preparing me for the fact that part of my colon needed to removed (surgery was scheduled for 9/2), and chemotherapy would follow. I had a colonoscopy today: the abscess healed and there are no masses. The surgery that was scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled!!! I am glad they were thorough but part of the problem all along has been that there were way to many people involved. I'll post some more details in the drunk and slum thread later. I just wanted to let you know I am indeed okay (and I didn't assault anyone in the ER/hospital ).

one of my childhood friends has a little pill issue. his wife called me this morning and he stole his daughters paycheck and took her car. he came home and crashed her car in to his house all fucked up. his 17yr old son then punched him in the face and knocked him out. he is $80,000 in credit card debt from buying oxy's. the guy makes really good money too. he is now in jail. good times.

The fruit flies that have suddenly appeared in my kitchen overnight are annoying me.

We sent the notice of end of our lease and two days later an agent showed up unnannounced for a viewing. We sent her packing, of course. And now we've had a couple of e-mails back and forth, with her saying that they did send a notification and that since I didn't reply, they assumed I was OK with the viewing. I told her that was bullshit and that I received nothing (which is true). She didn't even apologise, but someone else in the agency did send us an apology.

I did receive a notification later on, for a viewing that was carried out yesterday. We left a couple of mouse traps for the future tenants to see that mice are a problem they are highly likely to face here.

Oh, and the agency increased the price of our flat to over 700 pounds now. It's on a good location, but still is expensive as hell.

Thanks, for real guys. Hitting 50 was enough to reflect on mortality.....really in terms of what hasn't been accomplished. This, just spoke to what I knew intellectually.....that with age come more and more disease....from simple and multiple nuisance types to possible fatal ones. I have been very fortunate to have been born into a world where if the goods were delivered (5 fingers and 5 toes) that I would live a very healthy life....excellent health care, diet, etc. Just a really fortunate cosmic roll of the dice. There has been serious misbehavior in my life which has been offset by some serious healthy habits. right now.

Chaos....in their defense, the letter said they tried twice to reach me, which I believe as more often than not, I ignore numbers I do not recognize.
