I'm no longer going to go out of my way to do good things for strangers.

At 7 this morning I took my dog for a walk at this park I usually take her to. As we got on the far end of it I noticed all this mail thrown all over the pathway. Since there was so much of it, I decided to pick it up to return it to the houses it was stolen from. There were child support papers, voting papers, credit card papers, DMV and car insurance papers etc. etc., typical mail stuff and the type of mail that if it were stolen from me I would be extremely pissed off about. So I grabbed what I could (because some of it had blown way off the trail and down a 20 or so foot drop off down into the water of the lake area and I wasn't about to hurt myself trying to get them) drove home to drop my dog off and look up on Mapquest were the houses the mail was stolen from (thankfully what I found was all from the same street) and headed on over to return it. No one answered the door at the first two houses, but a lady probably not much older than me did at the third house. I explained to her I found her mail (actually probably her husbands because it had a mans name on it) while walking my dog and I'm doing a good thing trying to return it to you.

Now I know I'm not Matthew McConaughey beautiful or anything, but I also don't have the appearance of a drug addict that goes around stealing peoples mail. So she looked at me all suspicious, quickly grabbed the few envelopes for that address out of my hand, said a "yeah thanks" and shut the door on me. Ok, I thought, I wasn't expecting some huge reward or anything, but I did want something more than that. But oh well, I felt good about doing something good and got in my truck and drove home. I wasn't home more than 15 minutes when a cop came knocking on my door and started questioning me about my whereabouts, running my name to see if I had any criminal history (I don't) and whatnot. When I told him where I found the mail he didn't seem to believe me that I found it, he was trying to get out of me that I was the one who actually stole it. When I told him I could take him to the exact spot where more of it was, he asked me why I didn't try to return that mail and wondered why I just left it. I told him I wasn't about to break my neck climbing down a steep ledge with a dog in my hand. So he asked me to take him over to where it was and so I did. Only the entire ride over (it's about a 20 minute drive to where I walk the dog from my place) he was trying to catch me in a lie about what I was doing with all this mail. It was a joke and really made me mad for trying to do something good for total strangers. When he drove me back home I told him that the next time I see mail everywhere up there (because this wasn't the first time, just the first time I decided to pick it up) I'm just going to ignore it and just keep on walking.

That’s fucked.

Yeah, really fucked up how that cascaded into a pain in the ass but don't let it get to you. Just take solace in the fact that you went out of your way to do something good is ultimately its own reward.

I get this odd voice message around 11pm... mentioning my uncle and a number to call...sounded scammy...I look the number up online...it comes back LA County Coroner...fuck

So my mom's brother, my uncle, who was really more my older brother as he was only 8years older than me, died in his sleep at 55, bad heart.

So next morning as I am driving my mom to the coroner...she asks if I know what today is?...what would have been my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary.......ugggggg fucking life...he also died to bad ticker at 55....so when I ever stop posting..........

Anyway my uncle basically molded my musical taste...and while it's evolved into a different beast...his impact is at the foundation of my music life...no uncle Kevin raising me on Led Zeppelin, Bowie, punk rock and Smith's prob doesn't lead me to being into bands like Jane's...gawd knows all my friends hated what I dug

My interest in music, art, antiquities, history, antiques are all heavy impacted by him ...and then he was just my brother too...sucks

Sorry to hear about you and mother's loss, KV. Uncle Brother sounds like a great guy, you were lucky to have someone close who exposed you to so much good music, etc.

Every repair I have had to make in my car has required having to tear everything apart to get to the part. This is what I had to do to get to a leaky $60 AC evaporator. Next weekend I get to see if I can put it back together without having too many nuts and bolts left over and every electrical wire plugged in.

So I finally got around to getting one of those Roku things. I've had it for about a week and it's been pretty cool so far. Only for some reason after working fine for the first 3 innings it decided to black out the rest of the A's game on me. I've been able to watch previous A's/Giants games fine up until last night and now it's saying they are blacked out.

I've tried searching for a fix but so far I've been unable to find an answer
