I'm so glad they rarely play it live.

We just experienced a decent earthquake here in SoCal. Although I'm only a mile plus from coastal Huntington Beach (where a 4th of July parade is going on) and the quake apparently originated more than a hundred miles away in the Mojave Desert, it was a 6.2+ and was fairly strong here - enough to slosh some water out of my pool.

My pool too. Total rolling motion...no jolts...vertigo quake

But I don’t find them annoying...kinda invigorating especially with no damage or injuries

Made me think of one maybe 10 years ago on Easter...which was down south in the desert of Mexico...felt very much the same just a long roller...the quake today was followed by a strong aftershock that prob all blended into the long roller for us

Agreed. The dispersion must be misleading. Again a rolling/intoxicating feel here, but I read that many jumped in their cars to run for their lives. This is a minute or so after we were moving in place.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat - I've really grown to hate the 4th due to my neighborhood becoming a war zone. Every year, my next door neighbor has all his drunken relatives and friends over, they don't party in their back yards because that's were they put the yapping dogs and let their squealing little kids run rampant. So they BBQ and party on their front driveway all day, get stupid drunk and loud and light off a ton of mostly illegal fireworks after sunset and it goes on until about midnight. The next morning is the worst, because I have to go up on my roof and hose down all the debris off of and under my solar panels, fish everything out of the pool and clean the front and my driveway. Fuckin' local cops are useless because there's so much fireworks going on everywhere.

The guy across the street from me sold his house in December. The new owner is going to flip it; it's his first go at a flip. He started working on it in January. Every day since then the hammering starts at 7 am and stops at 7 pm. Work trucks park all over the street and block my driveway. And then there's the mess that blows into everyone's yards. By the looks of things, he has at least another month to go. It's grating on everyone's patience. (Yeah, I know - Get off my lawn! )

Dealing with the same shit in Metro West. My uncle (next door) sold his house to a developer, 3/4 acre was clear cut, about 50 old oaks gone, 5100 sq ft house going up. Nothing even close to that in our neighborhood. They had to raise the grade of the lot because they kept hitting the water table. So now there's a plateau next to my house. His aquifer plans are all fucked up and we had another uncle, drainage specialist go to the town to try to get it straight, but they're not taking it seriously. We already get water in the basement, now there are no trees uphill, aquifer starts behind our house, gonna be swimming in the basement.

Oh yeah and jackhammering all day, we're on a ledge.
