does anyone actually enjoy turkey?

The best Thanksgiving dishes ranked:

1-Mac n Cheese
2-mashed potatoes with gravy
3- pumpkin pie
4- stuffing

everything else sucks. Especially that bullshit cranberry stuff and any sort of vegetable. :jasper:

Wtf Mac n cheese? On Thanksgiving? :slap:

Love turkey! The pies, the stuffing...the yams...leftovers galore!

Cranberry sauce is for butter and cranberry turkey sandies...nothing else

you guys are crazy. if i could do it and not weigh 600 pounds i would eat mac and cheese for every meal. mac and cheese for thanksgiving is more of a southern thing but it is always served at our thanksgiving.

I love the stuff (well not the shells and cheese)
Just not today...does sound about right for the south though...enjoy!

BTW this is prob going to be the strangest turkey day of my life...since my uncle died and my sister never comes down for Thanksgiving (no presents? Why bother)
It's literally going to just be me and my mom....and we are doing a "light buffet"...no set table, not as much food and just a turkey breast and one pie...works for me...just thankful my Mom is still around

Mac n' cheese is a very Canadian thing, too. Up here, the Kraft product is just called "Kraft Dinner" instead of "Kraft Mac & Cheese". There are sexed-up baked versions with bechamel sauce, gruyere, nutmeg, cayenne, etc, that are wicked comfort food.

I'd totally make it for Thanksgiving. :noclue:

I did a "smoked" turkey for CDN Thanksgiving that was pretty goood. Put butter and thyme under the skin, cooked low and slow. Makes it really juicy. No dry breast / under/overcooked thighs. But I'd prefer something more interesting like duck confit or a brisket. :noclue:

Creep's distaste for veggies is odd. There are tons of vegetable dishes that don't suck.

Mac and Cheese is awesome....love it with lobster and truffle oil and a few stinkys from France...which btw is where it is derived from....just the bastard child of some mother sauces....and in Italy-Alfredo :hehe:

I did an herb butter under the skin and all around on this bird, sausage, apple, herb, shroom, and pumpernickel stuffing. Mashers, green bean casserole... and some pastry wrapped baked brie with fig jam, and pumpkin and apple pies...

Enjoy all

My wife loves to cook for Thanksgiving. I mean the works - turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes w/marshmallows, green beans and desert. This year was the first time she did cheese cake and it came out really good. Enough food to feed probably 12+ people but it would be only for the 3 of us (wife, son and I) and my brother (who is a perennial bachelor and never cooks) up until two years ago when he moved to Atlanta, would come for dinner and we'd give him most of the leftovers.

The downside for me anyway, is she cooks, I clean. That's the deal. And she's a messy cook. So as usual, after I eat about eleventy billion calories worth of food and cheese cake, stuffed to the gills, I spend about an hour after dinner cleaning dishes, the kitchen, the stove, etc.

I just realized no one mentioned bread rolls. You gotta have those to help sop up all that leftover gravy.
