Pineapple on pizza

#1 Post by clickie » Sun Apr 21, 2019 3:15 pm

It's been around for decades but I see this come up a lot with people being for or against it. I enjoy a Hawaiian pizza but I add some jalapeno's to mine.

It's the best topping and I'll fight anyone who disagrees :box:

pineapple and pepperoni is my #1 followed by mushrooms and pepperoni. anyone that doesn't like pineapple on pizza is a pizza snob. :essence:

You know what pretty good, the pizza place I was going to all the time before I moved had the 4 season pizza. basil, artichoke hearts, prosciutto, black olives, and mushrooms

Pineapple must have sausage to be on a pizza

I like it.

A suggestion if you want to try something new on any pizza: eat it with mashed avocado on top.

Every once in a while I like it. I think grilled pineapple and jerk chicken would make a good pie.

It used to be my favorite when I was a kid, I prefer something salty as a topping like anchovies.

I'm a purist...so mainly pep and cheese...sometimes sausage, sometimes pineapple...no shrooms :jasper: ok olives, onions and peppers (banana peppers are grind)....but mostly pep and cheese....

my favs in order are Me n Ed's in lakewood, Zachary's Pizza (several spots in norcal) and my normal day to day lazy pies are: Dominos pan pizza...half pep+parmesan asiago / half pep+sausage

I am also a believer in the church of DiGiorno...yes it's shitty, cheap, processed trash....but at 3am? It turns into the belle of the ball...

Pizza thread....I approve an I am out :tiphat:

The best pizza is objectively (for me, so objectively subjectively): pepperoni (and/or soppressata), green olives, hot peppers, and pineapple. Optionally bacon, sausage, ham, onions, mushrooms.

As far as cheap shitty processed frozen home-baked pizza, the correct answer is not quite DiGiorno (in Canada they call it Delissio for some reason) but Dr. Oetker's Ristorante thin-crust funghi: https://www.influenster.com/reviews/dr- ... zza-funghi

Bake it hotter than it says, and turn on the broiler for a couple minutes at the end.

for cheap frozen pizza digiorno is really good. if you are super cheap and poor tony's is the best. for $2.50 each you can't beat it.

These are the best imo

I usually put pineapple on the herb lovers and jalapenos on the other two.

Pineapple with canadian bacon is second to pepperoni for your run of the mill pizza place.
Just cheese for a good ny slice.
Little Star in SF has the best deep dish cornmeal crust with sausage and some other veggies.

Viccolo's sausage pizza is really good for home cooked.

No pineapple on pizza for me. I don't hate it, but never order it. If I was really craving pizza and the only pizza available had pineapple on it, I would eat it.

I don't actually eat much pizza. Not because I don't like it, but I have to watch the calories.

When I do have pizza, I prefer thin crust with toppings like mushrooms, olives, onions, bacon, red peppers, sopressati salami.

This is what I refer to as "hangover pizza"

I always keep 2 or 3 in my freezer for a day when I wake up feeling a little rough and don't want to spend 30 bucks on delivery.

It gets the job done.

Chicago is usually associated with deep dish pizza like Lou Malnatis but there is some great thin crust too. They cut it squares though that might turn some of you guys off.
