I guess they're talking about a late July playoff schedule

Do you guys think if this NBA season resumes the champion should have an asterisk around it?

Wow I feel old....20 years ago today...a 29 year old version of myself sat in the last row up top of a shining new Staples Center for "Bryant to Shaq"...the greatest sporting moment my eyes have watched live...and I've been lucky...no Kobe makes this emotional, no lie...I knew when he died it would paint everything a different shade...

NBA is back July 31st!

The link has the breakdown of how everything is going to work.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba- ... s-to-know/

Key dates
These are based on reporting from Shams Charania of The Athletic and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, and they are not set in stone. But this is a ballpark of the timeline the league is aiming toward.

June 15: International players return to markets
June 21: All players report
June 22: Coronavirus testing begins
June 30: Beginning of training camps
July 7: Travel to Orlando
July 31: Beginning of restarted 2019-20 season
Aug 25: NBA Draft Lottery
Oct. 12: Game 7 of the NBA Finals (if necessary)
Oct. 15: NBA Draft
Oct. 18: Start of free agency
Nov. 10: Training camps for 2020-21 season begin
Dec. 1: Opening night for 2020-21 season
Each team's eight-game closing schedule
This is not official.

BOSTON CELTICS vs. Bucks, Wizards, Raptors, Nets, Wizards, Blazers, Grizzlies, Heat

BROOKLYN NETS vs. Clippers, Kings, Wizards, Celtics, Magic, Clippers, Magic, Blazers

HOUSTON ROCKETS vs. Lakers, Blazers, Kings, Bucks, Mavericks, Pacers, 76ers, Raptors

INDIANA PACERS vs. 76ers, Heat, Suns, Magic, Rockets, Kings, Clippers, Lakers

L.A. CLIPPERS vs. Nets, Pelicans, Mavericks, Nuggets, Suns, Nets, Pacers, Thunder

L.A. LAKERS vs. Rockets, Nuggets, Jazz, Jazz, Raptors, Pacers, Trail Blazers,* Heat or Magic*

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES vs. Blazers, Jazz, Spurs, Thunder, Bucks, Pelicans, Pelicans, Celtics

MIAMI HEAT vs. Bucks, Pacers, Thunder, Nuggets, Suns, Celtics, Raptors, *Lakers or Trail Blazers*

MILWAUKEE BUCKS vs. Celtics, Heat, Grizzlies, Wizards, Rockets, Wizards, Mavericks, Raptors

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS vs. Kings, Jazz, Clippers, Spurs, Grizzlies, Kings, Grizzlies, Magic

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER vs. Jazz, Wizards, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Heat, Nuggets, Suns, Clippers

ORLANDO MAGIC vs. Pacers, Kings, Nets, Nets, Pelicans, 76ers, Raptors, Lakers or Trail Blazers*

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS vs. Pacers, Wizards, Raptors, Blazers, Suns, Rockets, Magic, Spurs

PHOENIX SUNS vs. Mavericks, Pacers, Clippers, Mavericks, 76ers, Wizards, Heat, Thunder

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS vs. Grizzlies, Rockets, Mavericks, 76ers, Celtics, Nets, Lakers,* Heat or Magic*

SACRAMENTO KINGS vs. Pelicans, Nets, Mavericks, Rockets, Magic, Pelicans, Pacers, Spurs

SAN ANTONIO SPURS vs. Nuggets, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Jazz, Jazz, Nuggets, Kings, 76ers

TORONTO RAPTORS vs. 76ers, Celtics, Nuggets, Lakers, Bucks, Rockets, Heat, Magic

UTAH JAZZ vs. Thunder, Pelicans, Grizzlies, Lakers, Lakers, Spurs, Spurs, Mavericks

WASHINGTON WIZARDS vs. Celtics, Thunder, 76ers, Nets, Bucks, Celtics, Suns, Bucks

Play-in tournament
Once each team has played its remaining eight-game schedule, the Nos. 1-7 seeds in each conference, at least, will be locked in. At that point, if the No. 9 seed is within four games of the No. 8 seed, there will be a play-in series for the final spot in each conference.

Playoff format
Same as always. Once the eight seeds in each conference are determined via the mechanisms above, seven-game series will commence with traditional formatting. This means no group-stage format or 1-16 inter-conference seeding. Yes, I find this very boring and wildly disappointing given the opportunity the league had to try something new and fun.

Most 50 point playoff games

Jordan: 8
Wilt: 4
Allen Iverson aka The Answer: 3
Jerry West: 2

These are the only players in NBA history to have multiple 50 point playoff games.

I think Allen Iverson was one of the most respectable amongst his peers and fans , hardest working players of all time.

I really don't think this is going to work. It will be interesting.

The Kings already have three positive tests.

I read that 16 out of 302 players tested positive for COVID and are self-isolating. It's going to be very challenging managing the extra cleanliness and the constant testing of players and staff. I hope it works out but it will be stressful for the players, worrying all the time about getting sick. Especially since they're in one of the 'rona hotspots- FL.
It will be weird to watch games without fans too.

Yeah KV. I think of Kobe very differently now. BTW I hated him being a Blazer fan. But damn. Still sad about it. Hats off to the winners.

Me too...AMEN!

I'm so looking forward to the season resuming....19 more days!

I haven't seen how the other teams look but I'm happy to see that my guys are in really good shape.

Marc Gasol...wow. He was a little soft and flabby looking pre-Covid.

Of course, I want my Raptors to win again but it will be tough. I think the Clippers are going to win.

The other day I was watching Inside the Green Room with Steven A(loud mouth)Smith as the guest and he thinks Miami is going to be a big surprise in the east and possibly cause an upset since people are sleeping on them. :noclue:
