That song kind of annoys me, so does RV, maybe I just don't like Roddy.....?

But I love the video, and I actually really like the ambiance and lyrics of those songs, maybe just his voice annoys me.

:hs: i'm confused. do you think roddy sang the lead on this song? it's mike. the only song roddy has the lead on on this album is motherfucker. maybe that isn't what you meant though. :noclue:

i didn't like this song after the first few listens. now it's one of my favorites on the album.

I can't get into King for a Day either..... :conf:

Is Sol Invictus in your rotation as much as their good previous albums for you creep?

yeah. it's not my favorite album but it is the only one that there aren't any songs that i really dislike and will skip on the album like the others. it's the most consistent album.

i'm not a fan of roddy singing. sometimes he is really off key when he is singing with mike on live songs like ricochet or stripsearch (<the best fnm song).

This is a really cool cover of Burt Bacharach. So lovely to see them getting along, and not at all superficially. Bonded by a love of music and making music together.

Compare to the band for which these boreds were established.

Most of the covers that FNM play annoy the hell outta me... Easy, I Started A Joke, Greenfields, This Guy's In Love With You, War Pigs are as far as I'm concerned, a waste of time that should be allocated to playing FNM songs, be they deep cuts or just any FNM song. I mean come on, who would rather hear Easy than Anne's Song?... And given that I think the songs themselves suck, these covers add insult to injury.

Songs like Let's Lynch The Landlord and whatever that Portishead song was that they covered are OK but still, just play your own fucking music... god...

Yes Mike's vocal register is amazing and he can sing the fuck outta Easy, but he could do that with other songs, and he does....

There. I said it.

You whiney little bitch, let the guy sing what he wants to sing. FNM improved Easy and gave the rock audience a song they can be 'romantic' to without it being some super-corny ballad. Their rendition of War Pigs blew people's head off, and I Started a Joke is a masterpiece on voice talent. Let him fucking be and stop whingeing because one of the best rock bands ever performed one song you don't like.

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :banghead: :boobs:  :agree:

Both please!
I only recently bought the first (chuck) album, now I love a lot of it esp. as the worm turns... But his voice!!

For me a cover song in a live set is a real treat and fnm picked some real beauty. Let's lynch the landlord being the zenith

Well then you'd love any FNM show cos they play Easy pretty much every fucking show....

I would LOVE to hear Mike P versions of the first two records. In fact, seeing as Chuck is has some serious $ woes at the moment, what better way to raise funds than have the current incarnation of FNM doing live versions of both those records? For a price of course. They could have special VIP tickets for say 1000 people at a venue, sell pay per view rights to the show on pay tv, and then sell the DVD and CDs of it and ALL the proceeds could go to Chuck... fuck yeah, win-win.

The songs on those albums have amazing vocal melodies on them.. The lyrics are pretty damn good too.. but yeah, his voice is very rough...

:lolol: you're welcome. I was gonna type "Oh my Bob! That fucking song is so shit, WHY do they insist on playing it???" but that would just perpetuate the evidence at hand....

My Chuck fundraiser is a good idea though....
