Radiohead sticks out like a sore thumb among just about every other act on the entire bill. I would be pissed if I bought advance tickets for the entire weekend.

I would've only been interested in Hans Zimmer. The ones I've recognized (like less than 20%) have played Coachella/Lolla loads of times. I think I've finally reached the age in which I stop going to festivals.

It seems like after 1-3 top tier bands each night, the rest of the line-up is filler. Not that they're all bad groups or artists (e.g. Guided by Voices), but they're almsot all bands/artists that would play a mid-size venue or club, which would be far, far preferable to the undulating desert throng shit that is Coachella.

Pollard is ok .... credible artist but hardly makes up for the vast filler here.

Kendrick Lamar's music is the best I've heard in decades. Many of his live shows are supported by a live band, and it works to perfection much like Trent did with his first few. I've been done with festivals for years, but even KL is misplaced. He's best at a mid sized shed.....his music is intimate. Now on the flip side I've never seen an artist 'suck satans cock' so fast and furious as he did.

Other than Kendrick Lamar, I don't care for any of the headliners. I do like a number of the smaller acts. Each day there are about 9 or 10 that interest me.

Last year I went to the two day, Bestival Festival(Canadian branch), and it was excellent! This festival was small compared to some of the other better known festivals. The site for Bestival was in the east end of Toronto at a large park, close to the lake and beach. It was easily accessible by public transit or bicycle, about 13km from my place. Mainly I went to see The Cure but ended up seeing a bunch of other bands. The price was really good too-early bird price was about$160 for the weekend pass. There was a main stage, DJ tent, and in the rear of the park, a giant EDM dance area. There was good food, drinks(more options than just beer), chill out areas, relatively clean toilets. The atmosphere was really great and not overly crowded, no massive lineups. The crowd was pretty friendly and chilled out, no fights or heavy police presence. I had a really good time and will probably go again this year.

My immediate thought is I don't know most of the acts..
Which immediately makes me think I am old and out of touch...GBV is best seen at like the troub...20 years ago

My conclusion is as follows: I'm old and Coachella is out of touch.

Are the young and hip Southern California kids really in to the weeknd and beyonce? Not that I know most of the bands but there is not anyone I would really want to see. Yeah I know I am out of touch and old but Outside Lands and Riot Fest lineups are consistently so much better than Coachella

Haim, The Weeked? Wow. Someone put up Greta Van Fleet up in the Who Are you Listening To Thread a while ago and I thought they were interesting as they are just babes in the woods and their lead singer's range when attempted is a dead ringer for Robert Plant. They clearly imitate Zep in a portion of their catalogue. They have gained enormous traction in a very short period of time.....kind of a fascinating story all around.

Horrible lineup

 My thoughts exactly.

I actually do like a number of the smaller acts. Though it's my ideal festival lineup, I thin the curators have got it right with what's currently popular.

The news over here are Los Ángeles Azules. I've seen them twice and I do hope they play more songs than just 3 of their most famous ones. The band is huge and I had a lot of fun. Booze and having fun with friends helped.

I can safely say I don't own a single album from *any* of these acts. I don't know if I should feel out of touch and old or have decent musical taste and hip.

I'm in to Chvrches and Blood Orange. Tame Impala have some good songs. That's about it.

I guess I'm so old that I've never heard of one of the headliners before. Should I have heard of Tame Impala before? I know it's not cool but I like quite a few Weezer songs but other than that there is nothing that would make me go to this
Obviously I'm not their target audience though

I heard there's gonna be some kind of Woodstock 50th anniversary festival this year. :hippie:

Tame Impala are reasonably popular. I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to have not heard of them though. I am a little surprised that they are a headliner.
