Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
I can't buy in Chile and I'd like to. So if you can help me out, by purchasing a few litecoin and then transferring them to me, I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to spend $140 on litecoin for me and $40 for you, for your trouble.
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
No. I wouldn't get involved with the cryptocurrency bubble. Unless you got in at the very beginning, speculation is always going to end up like heading to California after they already mined all the gold. You don't get any gold, and you probably die of dysentery.
Also, if you were going to buy some of any of these, why not Ether?

Don't know how true this story is about 50 Cent accidentally making a killing on Bitcoin...

50 CENT
RAKES IN MILLIONS
THANKS TO BITCOIN!!
50 Cent took a chance on bitcoin years before anyone knew what cryptocurrency even was ... and it's paid off more than 7 million times over.
Rewind to 2014 and 50's album, "Animal Ambition," when the rapper became the first to accept bitcoin -- which was then valued at around $662/bitcoin -- as payment for his work. We're told customers could get a copy of the album for just a fraction of a whole bitcoin.
Our sources say "Animal Ambition" pulled in about 700 bitcoin in sales ... over $400k. We're told the cryptocurrency sat dormant in his account for years.
Fast-forward to today -- when bitcoin's value has fluctuated between $10k and $12k per coin. Turns out 50 is a money genius ... sitting on anywhere between $7 million and $8.5 million.
The market has steadily declined over the last few weeks, so 50 might wanna think about unloading soon while the gettin's still good.

Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
by the way...when Larry made his post litecoin was around $133
It went up to about $340 and is now worth $175.
Bitcoin was $15,850 when he made the post and is now around $10,600.
It's pretty crazy how much you can make and lose on this stuff.

Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Yeah... I mean, it's also not as if I'm pretending to "invest" millions of dollars into this. Just some money that I'm willing to lose. Everything can go down the shithole, or I could double, triple, quadruple the little money I put into this. In the end, it's a bit of fun, really. Some people have been projecting Bitcoin (and cryptocurrencies in general) to die ever since they came about, and it hasn't happened (yet). Some people are projecting Bitcoin to reach between $80,000 and $100,000 by 2020. Litecoin is still quite cheap and new comparatively, and they're a bit more focused on it being useful in daily life, aiming for quick transactions and low or non-existant fees, so it may well reach the thousands of dollars at some point. So I thought, "why not"?creep wrote:by the way...when Larry made his post litecoin was around $133

And I like the phrase "the best moment to buy cryptocurrencies was 5 years ago, and the second best time is now". As long as you're not putting a mortgage on your house to get Bitcoin, why not get maybe $100? $150? What's really the worst that could happen? I'm sure most of us have lost $200 in sillier ways.
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
...I project that that won't happen, because it makes no sense, and also who cares what people "project". Speculative markets rely on speculation, which by definition has nothing to do with reality. It sort of... makes its own reality, which is ultimately unsustainable because human beings are fickle, and there's no inbuilt stability in an imaginary commodity where the value isn't connected at all to market-usage (which can be a stabilizing factor). Some people are projecting Bitcoin to reach between $80,000 and $100,000 by 2020.
If bitcoin becomes a legitimate universal currency, then at least it won't be so volatile, but that kills the whole point of frenzied speculation, and it'll be like trying to invest in any other currency... the potential gains won't usually be high enough to justify it over any other investment.
You want 1.5% of a bitcoin? Why? If you buy in at $10,000 per coin, and it somehow miraculously goes back up to 20,000 (which it won't), you double your money. But why not just save that $150, and work for a few more hours to save another $150? Now you have doubled your savings, and you had zero risk.why not get maybe $100? $150?
It's worse if you buy one Litecoin, because Litecoin might just cease to exist (there's a limit to the feasibility of multiple cryptocurrencies).
Unless you've got thousands of dollars for an investment in mining equipment and a deal on cheap electricity, it's really difficult to see why anyone should bother...
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Man, you really are a whingy millennial, aren't ya?
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Wait, I thought cryptocurrency mining was a millenial thing... Is everything everyone doesn't like a millenial thing?
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Proper millenials either mine(d) cryptocurrency or complain about it. Both are special snowflakes.Hype wrote:Wait, I thought cryptocurrency mining was a millenial thing... Is everything everyone doesn't like a millenial thing?
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
When did you start using alt-right codewords? Why can't we all be snowflakes together?
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
Hype is right though.
Just work a little bit Larry, you lazy Chilean donkey

Maybe Bitcoin will be the New World Currency used by a centralised world bank? Controlled by lizards after they've injected everyone with microchips?

Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
I wish I could give you some kind of tip, but obviously I have no idea how it'll go. If you have some money that you're willing to lose, it might be a decent time.
Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
I think you should buy LTC if it goes down below $100. On Tuesday it hit $106 briefly, which would've been a good time to grab some, and then sell quickly to make $40 per coin.
Or, jump on a market-linked fund while things are a bit lower right now.

Coinbase is really easy to use.Bandit72 wrote:What broker do people use to buy crypto?Hype wrote:I think you should buy LTC if it goes down below $100. On Tuesday it hit $106 briefly, which would've been a good time to grab some, and then sell quickly to make $40 per coin.

Re: Has anybody here bought Litecoin?
For Bitcoin, I've always used www.localbitcoins.com.
I've heard good and bad things about Coinbase, but they don't allows sales in Chile. Localbitcoins also allow for a bit more anonymity, if you want that.

Looks like you missed your chance to get $100 Litecoins. They're back up to 150 now.
