Damn... that's a dangerous duo... Bobby doesn't suffer fools and Perry is a suffering fool...

Pleasant enough. Dropping for a moment whatever perry has done to alienate himself from his fan base, he’s an LA rock legend and got up there with a different legend and knew the words and seemed to put effort into the moment. So it was nice.

His face doesn’t move. That’s Joan rivers creepy.

What I’d love as a jane’s fan and as someone for whom PF was a huge influence in another time, is for something about the crowd reaction and the effort being put in by Weir to remind Perry what it’s like to play a righteous show meant to entertain his devoted fans. I’m a deadhead but I don’t go to weir solo shows or much of anything they still do. But that’s because I was lucky enough to see Garcia and the real dead so many times and I just don’t have the time for whatever the members are up to. (I did go to Fare Thee Well, and the phish guy held his own and the shows were a great party.) It’s a little slow and nostalgic for me. But I admire how each of the working units - the john mayer thing, whatever phil’s got going on, Bobby’s current thing, j-rad, even dark star orchestra (which has never interested me a bit, but i know deadheads who swear by it) continue to make fan friendly hard working long concerts with spontaneity in the song choices. Maybe Perry learned a thing or two.
