Scored a free espresso machine today!
I was talking to a friend of mine about buying one and she said that she would give me hers because she and her family never use it!
Tested it out...works great!

This morning around 5 in the AM my dog was in the backyard when she started barking up a storm. Now she barks outside pretty much every time she goes out (which I don't like, but she is a dog and it's what dogs do) but this was a ridiculous amount of barking even for her. I thought that maybe she had a deer trapped back there or a raccoon when I went out to get her to bring her back inside (one of my major pet peeves are dog owners who allow their dogs to bark for extended periods outside without shutting them up) Anyways I went outside to bring her in when I noticed her aggressively barking while looking up into a tree. I thought "oh, probably just another raccoon", only when I got close enough to look up into the tree I saw that it was a bobcat in the tree! It was the first time I've ever seen a bobcat and I was surprised at just how much larger it was compared to my dog (she is a Rat Terrier) but she somehow managed to chase it up the tree instead of getting attacked by it.
I scooped my dog up and put her in the house and then grabbed a camera hoping to get a picture of it. Only by the time I got the camera and went back outside (maybe took 35 or so seconds) it was gone. So the two most exotic animals that I've seen, a porcupine and now this bobcat I failed to get pictures of. Still cool though, but now I'm kind of worried about letting my dog out by herself

I have that same espresso machine! we never use it either.
My daughter turned 18 on Sat.
Yesterday she texted me. We've been estranged for 11 years so that came as quite a surprise. We're going to talk today and I am so nervous and excited.

If it’s worth anything, I was estranged with my mother for like 20 years, and yet today we have a more than decent relationship. Birthdays and all that stuff. Good things can happen.
Wishing you all the best.

Wonderful news, wally!
Re: What made your day today?
Having my aunt in town from France, and her telling me all the stories about her lil bro (my dad) no one has the sack to tell me. Interestingly enough my father, my aunts and my uncle were all born in various parts of Africa. But the coolest thing is my wife got to understand more about who I am and why I just do dumb shit like randomly buy a ranch to turn into a recording and art studio.

Hmm... dumb shit, eh? Juana, can I have some money for no reason?

Re: What made your day today?
So my wife is recovering really quickly from her latest ordeal and she decided she's going back to work next week. We had this week left were she's in pretty good shape so Monday night we decided to book a short 3 day vacation in Vegas in the middle of the week. Neither of us has been there in years and she lived there for a few years when going to UNLV and wanted to see how Vegas has changed the last couple decades (which is a lot).
Because it's Tuesday - Thursday, room rates are good and probably because it's now known as the hotel where the worse mass shooting took place, we got a huge suite at Mandalay Bay for about $100 a night. I also secretly picked up front row tix for Cirque Du Soleil "O" for Wednesday night to surprise her. Even for a slow Tuesday/Wednesday mornings, the pool areas and over-rated wave pool gets really crowded and touristy. I swear to God, we probably walked 10 miles per day just going back and forth from restaurants and pools back to our room at the top of that tower. The highlight was taking our son gambling for his first time ever - he did better'n my wife or I and doubled his money. But Wednesday night with a dinner at the Chinese restaurant Jasmine overlooking the Bellagio lake/water show was great. The Cirque Du Soleil show was fun and a perfect topper to our stay.
LOL, I realized I sound like Etty......

Free booze on someone's front lawn!
I took the little Patron bottles and the Rum because they weren't opened.
There was other stuff on the lawn like dishes and kids toys with a sign that said "Free Stuff".
