Perry on the Tonight Show

#1 Post by Hokahey » Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:42 pm

He was interviewed and played Pirate Punk Politician.

Any time I see him on TV I feel like he's like a drunk relative. Like "I know him and I wish he wasn't embarrassing everyone right now."

He looks ridiculous. Between his face and his outfit I can't believe anyone let's him out of the house.

And this song. Jesus. I suppose there are worse songs, but it's awful live. And the choreography of the back-up singers/dancers. Oh my God. :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

It's SO obvious that it was choreographed by Etty because it is SO terrible. No one looks like they're having fun up there. Go home Perry.

Interview was cringe worthy and no 60 year old should dress like that. However, that's Perry and that's always been Perry.

The performance was the bright spot I thought.

That song is so bad. It tries to create tension and fails miserably. And although Perry does seem to ‘give it all’, I’m tired of seeing Etty’s armpit. I wish she’d do something else, like not being onstage.

I also saw two minutes of his interview. I stopped watchig when he said ‘look, we’re on tour...’

You’re not on fucking tour, you’re playing like 4 shows in a month. In a restaurant.

Perry has always been in outer space, yes. But there's a big difference between his demeanor then and now. He used to pull it off. Now he just comes across like a goofy old man.

The performance was awful. His voice gives out pretty early. And the rest of the band look absolutely ridiculous.

I'm surprised he actually was interviewed. Half about him/half about lollapalooza. Pretty much confirms to me that everyone in Jane's Addiction no longer belongs in Jane's Addiction (if that wasn't somehow already obvious). Each of its members have moved on, and apathetic festival audiences have as well. Didn't have to be this way though!

I liked him better when he was 25 and calling himself Marilyn Manson.

Why the fuck did they spend the whole performance saluting and marching in place?

Does Etty know the difference between politicians and the military? :lolol:

At least the 4 singer/dancers weren't MTV VJ's though. :lolol:

I thought it was a fun performance?..I thought the background dancers were darling and having fun?..Perry was pulling out some old tricks yelping into his delay and shaking his ass!!!…Everyone is so fucking jaded in this trumpian era?..I mean I get that people adored 1990 Perry but even a fucking Beatle named Paul McCartney gets less shit for growing older and still creating new music that taste different?...Hate has truly become a sport? ...If I don’t dig best foods mayonnaise I don’t throw a bitch fit about it I buy Heinz cuz that’s whats making my ham sandwich get me off? :noclue:  :thumb:

Having a poor opinion of Perry's performance does not make me jaded, a hater, etc etc

It makes me honest. It means my taste is discerning.

I have obvious ties here. This is where we discuss Jane's stuff and have for nearly 20 years. I'm not going to not share my opinion of how bad it's gotten.

It's weird watching plastic Perry listen to that old song. It was also nice reminder how excellent of a song that was.

Didn't it come to light at one point that xiola was in her early to mid teens? I wonder if he's ever been called out on that. Unless I'm remembering it incorrectly.

Perry born on March 29, 1959
Lisa Chester death on June, 6 1987

Perry's age: 28
Lisa's age: 18

Fooling around in 1985?

So he was banging her when she was 16 and he was 26?

Cool. Cool.

I don’t buy for a second he didn’t know she was her cousin. Good ol’Perry lying as always.
