I guess the tour has sold well enough that they don’t feel the need to promote?

As long as the Janes account keeps tagging Dave in content, I would hope all four are on stage next week but the fact the nothing has been explicitly stated leaves me feeling that a replacement player could still be a possibility

The real answer is: it's the Smashing Pumpkins' tour, and JA are just tagging along for the ride to maybe help fill out seats (= "Very Special Guests").

Perry gave an interview previously where he said they had the exact same budget as the pumpkins for the stage. And then they bring Eric back in the fold. It's very weird that they're not talking about anything.

It most definitely is! Appearances on late night talk shows to perform a couple of their new singles, an announcement of a new album- a 33 song rock opera!

Meanwhile, we ANRers are drooling for the possibility of 1 new song.

There is a very strong possibility that one new song from JA with Eric will be better than all 33 songson the new pumpkins album- the music video for the new sp song is… interesting lol

From what I saw, ticket sales were not that strong, but there's still a month to go for the shows I looked at. I don't really care if the arena is empty if I get to hear new JA songs with Eric. Even if they suck, I can put that question of "What would it have sounded like?" to bed.

I plan on going— but I don’t think I’ll even stay for SP

They are beyond cringe at this point. Cat imagine a logging through 2 hours of Billy

“Smashing Pumpkins” has been more or less trash since the original band broke up. Ironically, the best album since is Oceania, which consisted of Billy and a bunch of nobodies.

That being said, I saw the “reunion” tour (I think it was 2018) and it was phenomenal. It was the original band with Jack Bates filling in on bass and Jeff Schroeder as a third guitarist. They played for three hours and all of the material was from the first five albums (with a couple of covers thrown in).

You may be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not sure I can deal with watching and listening to Fester - he's become insufferable. I'd rather watch Chaney play a bass solo...

Billy's solo effort Ogilala is the best thing any of them have done in at least 20 years.

pretty sure billys wrestling show is the best thing he has done in a couple few decades ... just like daves ink master was far more enjoyable than any of those crappy records his bands made him play on .. the greatest hits sp tour a couple years ago was pretty fn great tho .. jimmy seemed a lil tired and the session musicians never help but still an enjoyable set with only one new song tacked on the end so it was barely noticed ... not interested in whatever new billy crap will be featured on this tour .. saw chilis with josh and they mostly played new stuff .. a couple new songs are ok but like 10 is ridiculous .. would love to hear new janes with eric but it is purely out of curiosity and I have zero expectation of anything better than kind heaven with eric on bass .. won't be surprised if etty is barfing all over everything like she usually does .. wont be surprised if that lolla pfp show was the best we are gonna get for a while .. i'll take it .. that lolla set the band was fire and perry hung on for dear life but was not too bad

I’m old.

I can’t handle 3 hours of Billy.

I can do 70 minutes of Eric and Jane’s.

I saw Idles last week and it was around the corner from my place. Walked in after opening act. They played like 90 minutes and I was out.

I have floor seats at MSG and I how I can just sit and enjoy lol

Yeah I'm thinking I'll stick around for maybe 1/2 the SP set. Sad thing is they were once my 2nd favorite band 91-96 lol! I find Corgan voice, appearance, and presence insufferable now lol.

Exactly the same. I'll give SP an hour, and then depending on how it's going I'm probably out.

I want to hear Rocket though. Probably my Fav pumpkins tune. And I love this acoustic version.

It's an incredible song. Anything on Siamese Dream is classic.

Okay, I tried to be nice about it earlier; you guys are high. Stop taking this shit so seriously…the Pumpkins “reunion” tour was amazing. If this tour is half as good, we should all be happy. The original band (Billy, James, Jimmy) with Jack Bates (Peter Hook’s son) on bass and an extra guitarist who plays rings around James Iha…what’s not to love?

This is not just one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs, but jone of my favorite songs in general. I will be THRILLED if they play it.

I saw em in 2018 and they were fine. Billy doesn't bother me that much anymore honestly. I've walked right past him at NWA wrestling shows and didn't bother to bug him. He's just kind of doing his thing, take it or leave it. I have a low bar to appease me though, 1 new JA song, and Geek USA by Pumpkins. Doubt I'll hear Geek USA but like plenty of their other stuff.

New JA post - second slide. That does not look like Dave’s pedal board to me.

Ohhh good point. That’s what was throwing me off. Couldn’t tell the difference between a guitar or bass wah

Stephen has been posting updates (only about him) about flying out for the tour via Instagram. No word from the rest of the band.

Yes, just saw he posted a pic...in Shreveport for rehearsals.

I don't know if it's someone who posts here but someone asked if Dave is going to be on the tour.

That question has been asked on a number of posts by band members and the official accounts (Insta, Twitter, FB), and I’ve not seen any reply.
