They’re all very small. And Dave is super self conscious about it. He insisted that he appear to be the tallest on the Strays cover.

Josh’s extra shit on the second half of the Three Days solo in Vegas was such fire I don’t miss Dave. Phasers on MELT FACE. And he played the necessary parts, too. It’s definitely Jane’s Addiction.

Yeah I paid pretty close attention to his playing on Three Days in Vegas. While it doesn't sound exactly like Dave, I still thought he sounded like himself but played it pretty faithfully to the original. Gonna check out these clips.

edit: after listening to both of those clips, that was pretty much my memory of it. Not Dave perfect, but more than adequate. I forget if it was ANR or 1%, but I thought they especially crushed it on one of the songs early on in the set. First time hearing Trip Away or Obvious live for me, so that was pretty neat. Kettle Whistle sounded great too.

I met Dave once at an after show during the One Hot Minute tour. I couldn't believe how short he was. We talked about Deconstruction for a bit, which i was obsessed with at the time. I was 19.. maybe 20 and super nervous to meet one of Jane's Addiction. He was literally the sweetest guy ever. My friend who introduced us said.. you know this Chilli peppers thing is good .. but you really should get Jane's back together, He kinda sighed and said yeh.. I know. (this was pre relapse tour)

I also remember the minute he appeared, literally every woman in the place just flocked towards him.. He had some sort of dark vampire allure.

Was that the wembley 1996 show? That was my first proper gig! A friend of mine got backstage through Blackie Dammet and the RHcp fanclub. He told me that Dave was my far the friendliest with the fans.

No, it was Brixton Academy. Ironically we saw Dave and Chad at a Primus gig the week before that. (amazing show) I did go to the Wembley 96 show though - What a great gig that was. I remember seeing the actor Stephen Dorff hanging around looking depressed (another short arse)
