Faith No More - South American Tour
Faith No More - South American Tour
So, last night FNM played in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the first of 4 shows they'll be playing in South America.
Here's the setlist.
1. Woodpecker From Mars
2. Land of Sunshine
3. Be Aggressive
4. Midlife Crisis
5. Caffeine
6. Evidence
7. Last Cup of Sorrow
8. Cuckoo for Caca
9. Easy
10. Digging the Grave
11. Ashes to Ashes
12. Everything's Ruined
13. The Gentle Art of Making Enemies
14. King for a Day
15. Epic
16. Just a Man
Encore:
17. Why Do You Bother?
18. We Care a Lot
Encore 2:
19. This Guy's in Love with You
Tonight they'll be playing in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Saturday in Santiago, Chile . They said they'll play the entire King for a Day album, with Trey Spruance on guitar, which (if I'm not mistaken) would be the only show in FNM's timeline to include Trey.
I love this band.

That's a great setlist. The only thing missing is Falling to Pieces.
Their influence is everywhere and they should make some new albums.

Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
i was sort of bummed that they didn't play any san francisco warm up shows. not many bands that i can think of that are still as good or not better live than they were 20 years ago.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
Oh, and according to the schedule of the Maquinaria Festival (Chile), they have 90 minutes to play. So, hopefully, we'll be getting a few gems aside from King for a Day
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
to me they sound like a band who's trying to break through but can't because their songs aren't very good/interesting/cool. But apparantly a lot of people think differently, good for FNM

That setlist is great. Wonder if Spruance playing with them is a good sign for Mr Bungle.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
they have pretty much already broken through and they have some great songs. do yourself a favor and listen to angel dust. they hardly play live and haven't tried to write new music yet so i doubt they are trying to make it.Matz wrote:to me they sound like a band who's trying to break through but can't because their songs aren't very good/interesting/cool. Love Faith No More. Ashes to Ashes
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
it blows my mind how awesome these guys are, were, and continue to be.
They should go do a tour with Pearl Jam and call it the "We play awesome fucking setlists and kick your ass for 2 and a half hours" tour.

Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
Yeh I agree. Patton still has one of the best voices I've ever heard. Recorded and live.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
Apparently, they played it last night in UruguayNYRexall wrote:That's a great setlist. The only thing missing is Falling to Pieces.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
To me it sounds they're cashing in and having fun on the way
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
pretty much since most of their shows are festivals. at least they play long sets and change up the setlists all the time. they also change up the lineup bringing back old members by bringing back an old guitarist for the chile show and the old lead singer for one of the san francisco shows.Mescal wrote:To me it sounds they're cashing in and having fun on the way
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
Yeah, it's seems like a "let's play some shows and fucking enjoy them".
In 2011, they've played just 2 shows so far and it seems like they won't play more shows aside from these 4 in South America

If they don't tour the midwest soon I'm going to ...get mad.

That album will always remind me of a roommate I had.
At the time when that album was released I was sharing a house with two other people whose musical tastes were very different from mine. One of the roommmates was bothered by me cranking up Angel Dust all the time and asked me not to play it when she was home. So, to be fair I asked her to not play Michael Bolton when I was home. I felt that was an even-steven deal.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
I really hope they play some shows here. The greatest thing about the set lists is you always want more. I was at 1 of the Brooklyn shows on the reunion tour and just seeing how the 2 nights varied so much made we wish I went to both nights.
Is that Trey? It looks like the dude whose been touring with them. If so, awesome. I never thought him and Patton would ever play together again. I don't think it's him, but I could be wrong. Would love to see Bungle again.

Trey will be playing with FNM as a guest only for the show in Chile.blackula wrote:I really hope they play some shows here. The greatest thing about the set lists is you always want more. And it seems like that setlist from Buenos Aires has an error: they didn't play Why Do You Bother?, but instead a "mystery song", as people have been calling it:
Is it a cover? a new song? some random shit?

Ditto. Didn't they only do 2 shows in the US?hokahey wrote:If they don't tour the midwest soon I'm going to ...get mad.
It was like San Fran and Philadelphia, and that was it.
Re: Faith No More - South American Tour
There's rumors of a new album. They are all open to it. I think it's just a matter of Patton putting it on his schedule of 14 things to release in the next year. hahaMescal wrote:To me it sounds they're cashing in and having fun on the way
